Masochist Lyrics

She says you're a masochist for falling for me,
So roll up your sleeves.
And I think that I like her, 'cuz she tells me things I don't want to hear,
Medicinal tongue in my ear.

When will it stop? When will it stop?

When will I feel all soft on...

This first verse of the song speaks of three distinct persons:

She (third person) says you're (second person) a masochist for falling for me (first person). The first person is telling the second person what the third person has said about their relationship.

For some reason, the first person is unable to love the second person (perhaps she recently broke up with someone else, has trust issues, or any number of other reasons).

Even though the first person doesn't like what the third person has to say, she recognizes the truth in it and sees it as a sort of medicine (something that usually is distasteful but necessary to get better).

Feeling soft on the inside is all about learning to love again.
