Lifehouse: You And Me Meaning
Song Released: 2005
You And Me Lyrics
What day is it? And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time
Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me...

Lifehouse is a Christian group and it's obvious the song is about God... or a higher power.. It is explaining that they are in a point in their life where everything is going crazy.. and he is surronded by people and things.. and it's chaotic... yet admist it all God still stands their. Admist all the choas Maybe the she is the virgin Mary.

To me this song is awsome. It perfectly describes me and my boyfriend. We were best friends for a long time and crazy about each other but so scared to share our feelings. Now that we together he's the only thing I can think about. Everything he says and does captivates me. He's the only person I see! It seems like just yesterday I had just a little crush and now its become so much more and so much deeper. This is the perfect song for us. Its saying that theres no need to worry about all the people around them because they don't matter. All that matters is each other. Time doesn't matter, other people don't matter, and nothing else holds any importance. That's what it says to me anyhow! ;)

I think this song is one that everyone can relate to. As he states "everything she does is beautiful"... This song makes me think of a girl I danced with at my high school dance years ago. We danced to this song and I told her that I meant everything this song stated. This song is for you Sara

For me it's about love, there are many interpretations with using God etc, but for me it's love.. from one to another.. everyone is open to their interpretation.. and I just see.. This guy, singing about the girl he loves - wish my boyfriend wrote something like this for me!
-
I think it is about a Christian wanting to share his/her faith. However he/she doesn't know what to say. But God is saying he/she has nothing to lose.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
Its him trying to tell her that he won't let people get in the way- like their friends, family or people trying to have a fling. non of that matters because when he's with her he's completely in awe of every little detail...

This is something a lot of people can probably relate too. From the lyrics we picture two people who have feelings for each other. However, they are holding back from showing their feelings about each other; "with nothing to do, nothing to lose".
I think it's basically that feeling of being so into someone that you notice nobody but them when you're in a room of people. -
I think it's about this one guy who loves this one girl and never wants to lose her
-
I think this song is about finding love, and once you've found that love, how everything around you keeps moving but you seem to be captivated in those moments of love.

I'm walking down the aisle to this song. It describes mine and my fiances relationship rather well. From the point where we started dating to where we are today, things have gone by so quickly. We were talking about when we first started the other day and we realized that it seemed so long ago and yet, not that long ago at the same time. There are times that I have to remind myself that we are in the year 2007 and not 2005. That's my thoughts on the first verse.
Here goes the second...Have you ever been so taken away by someone that you get that sickening nervous feeling inside of you. When my fiance first brought up the idea of us dating, he was rather vague about it. But I knew what he was talking about. His words didn't come out right and I got so nervous that I changed the subject. We were so infatuated with each other that it got the better of both of us :)
I think the third verse is kind of self explanatory. But as for the verse, it's perfect. When I walk down the aisle there will be tons of people there, but for me and him, the only ones there will be me and him and I will not be able to take my eyes off of him.
The song does have a sort of melancholy sound to it, but I think that is what makes it perfect to walk down the aisle and slow dance too.
Just my thoughts on a wonderful song. Kudos to Lifehouse -
This song is about perception. The feelings and emotions he feels for this person are clouding everything around him. I feel he is tired of not taking the chance to tell her how he feels, and this song, whether or not actually intended for someone, is his way of telling her and the world around him of how beautiful she is.
-
i think it's about how there's this guy and there are so many other people that he could chose from but the only person that he sees it this one girl and how when he is around her he can't think about anything else but her
-
I think this song is about love/his girlfriend. I know when I hear the song it pretty much describes how I feel about her. What day is it and in what month I think describes how when you're with the one person you love time seems to move so fast because you're so wrapped in that person.

Someone asked for the meaning of this song, I hope my interpretation helps you. I think the song is trying to say that sometimes everything around you is moving so quickly.. So much is happening and inside your caught in a moment thinking about stuff nobody else is thinking about. You watch life go by and sometimes you take a moment and think about it all, but if you notice it has a sad tone, mybe because the song is trying to say even though your in love there's no guarantee of hapiness. Maybe it's about a girl who he really likes but can't tell how much she means to him and how time doesn't exist when he's with her.
