Lifehouse: Breathing Meaning
Song Released: 2001
Breathing Lyrics
Though I don't really know what I'm gonna do when I get there
I take a breath and hold on tight
Spin around one more time
And gracefully fall back to the arms of grace
'Cause I am hanging on...
-
I have a completely different interpretation of this song. I thought of this as coming from the mind of a dog. When it's owner comes home from work. And how happy they are. Spin around one more time.. hanging on every word you say.. waiting for the scraps to fall from the table... God.. even if you don't want to speak tonight that's all right.. as long as I know you're there.. and when you go to sleep I'll lie outside your bedroom door and listen to you breathe

I listened to this song all the time and it took me a while to actually work out the whole meaning. I actually thought it was a beautiful romantic song until one night something made the words ‘I bet you’re tired of me waiting for the scraps to fall down from your table to the ground’ stand out. It is like a bible verse in Mathew which describes a faithful believer. Someone who doesn’t require rewards to be content. When I listened to it all again the message it sent me was completely about being faithful to God. I still love this song as it provides such reassurance that, we all, as humans can eventually get out of a challenging situation and knowing that we can fall back into God’s grace makes life more bearable

.. it's all about the great love for his GOD..

i knw these guys r famous as a christian rock band. but that doesnt mean this song should be about God... for me i think this song speaks about a girl he is obsessed or fallen in love with.
all the places he speaks about God are his prayers and how he waits for god to reply to those prayers "I'm trying to identify, The voices in my head, God, which one's you?"
wat he means by heaven here is the girl's place and not the actual heaven.
