Lifehouse: Broken Meaning
Song Released: 2008
Broken Lyrics
Maybe it can stop tomorrow from stealing all my time
I am here still waiting though i still have my doubts
I am damaged at best, like you've already figured out
I'm falling apart, I'm...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song "Broken" is written about his visit to a friend that was going through a kidney transplant. The song is sung in the first person, as if it is his friend who is speaking the words.
Many of Lifehouse's songs can be interpreted many different ways and that is a due do the vagueness in which they are written. This is a difficult trick to pull off, but displays the ability to write meaningful lyrics.
Also, many of Lifehouse's songs have spiritual undertones, if not outright spiritual. Broken carries these undertones, but the main point of the lyrics is to focus on the feelings of pain, insecurity and hope his friend was dealing with while awaiting his transplant.
Listening to the song in the spirit and meaning for which it was written allows the listener to place themselves beside the hospital bed of a friend as he shares his emotions. -

#2 top rated interpretation:I absolutely LOVE the song-----I think it is about God---it may have been written about his friend awaiting a kidney transplant, but I sure can see where it could be someone reaching out through life's trials and pain trying to maintain hope and faith in God---"I'm damaged at best, like you've already figured out"---which God will already know (have figured out)---"in the pain I find healing and in Your name there is meaning"---to me...that is a reference to nobody but God. Through all the pain...still holding on ,albeit barely, holding on to faith in God.But then....that's how I interpret it, someone else may not.

This song reminds me of the pain and heart break I went through the day my cousin died of a fentynal overdose and how it felt when my pets passed away

I find comfort in this song after losing my 37 year old son to a rock climbing accident 2 1/2 years ago! I can see his “reflection” in my eyes; and “in the pain I find healing and in your name I find feeling” always moves me! I am broken - no mother should lose a son! I listen to this song and sing along many times! Thank you Lighthouse!! ❤️❤️

The song reminds me of an emotional break up where one is holding on to some sort of hope for being back together or for closure.I can also see some religiuos meanings. The song i enjoy and helps me try to think straight as im going through some extremely life changing things at the moment more than one should bare.

Wade says the song is written about his visit to a friend that was going through a kidney transplant.
I think it reflects the deeper truth that his faith in religion is shattered but he found God there. -
I Think Its About His Friend, Too. But, It Can Also, If You Want It To Be That Way, About A Girl Who He Loved And They Broke Up, And Hes Holding On By A Broken Heart. And Ya
