You have to look twice at the lyrics to understand them, and then after getting addicted to a song you find a different meaning in it.
As for "a light that never comes" it can be said it is Linkin park's one of the most uplifting songs ever!!!
Tho they messed up with the video part(as far as i can say it was ok๏╭╮๏)
It is an underrated one.

I think that it is about someone who wants things to get better and/or more exciting, but everything stays mundane and bad.

we try to find him everywhere but can't find him anywhere. so we just wait, endlessly...
and the rap is about how the life is with or without him -
It's about someone living a really Croat life and it's just one problem after another as the look forward and think it can't get worse stop winning about it and ceep strong.....but the light never comes to lift them out of there life
