Bleed It Out Lyrics

Yeah here we go for the hundredth time,
Hand grenade pins in every line
Throw 'em up and let something shine
Going out of my fucking mind
Filthy mouth, no excuse
Find a new place to hang this noose
String me up from atop these roofs
Knot...

It's about John, from brave new world. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go read the book yourself, or you'll still be as ignorant as you are now.

the refrain- I bleed it out- is about his self-mutalation, trying to repent for Linda- digging deeper just to throw it away- is to cleanse himself of his thoughts, and his digging into his mind to purge it of thoughts of Lennina. Going out of my fucking mind- self explanatory, if this is about john, being that he goes somewhat insane from contact with society- Filthy mouth, no excuse- using words like mother, and calling Lennina a whore- Find a new place to hang this noose- he commits suicide, by hanging himself from the light house- String me up from atop these roofs Knot me tight so I won't get loose- yea- Truth is you can stop and stare- civilization gawks at him- Bled myself out and no one cares- they think it's great fun, have an orgy porgy...- with the trench, he tries to leave the society but just keeps digging deeper into it- Mama help me I've been cursed- Linda is his mother, he's been cursed w/ society- Death is rolling in every verse- both Linda and he die- Candy paint on his brand new hearse- the children watch Linda die in fascination, she gets no peace- Can't contain him, he knows he works- referring to civilization- And I know that I won't be satisfied- he keeps punishing himself, never enough- When they bring that chorus in- orgy porgy, ford and fun, kiss the girls and make them one...- I've opened up these scars- scars being corrupting their society, bring back all the old sensations- I'll make you face this- "you" being the people, "this" being himself, the lack of civilization in general.

it's not about cutting, it's actually about something worth singing about. but since society obviously is shallow and can't understand, there's no reason to correct that misconception since it could lower their sales.

I thought the song lyrics were about the song itself and about the ways mike felt having to rewrite the song over 1 million times.

If you read the info in the cd case it kinda of makes sense.

They wrote over 100 songs for this cd and many of these songs went through multiple re-writes.

Here we go for the 100th time

Also having to work so hard for all those 100 songs and then having to narrow them down to 12

Digging deeper just to throw it away

I think part of the meaning is to look in to yourself and get rid of the junk. When you were little and skinned your knee you were told to let it bleed, it gets rid of the impurities, hence bleed it out.(also in medical terms, blood letting or draining blood was used to remove impurities or illness) "Make it a dirt dance floor again" I think refers to getting back to basics. To me the basic message is to remove all the junk that's accumulated in ones soul and get back to a more innocent honest time.

I think it's about a football player. The practice hurts I won't lie, doesn't matter how hard I try. means he's doing his best to get better. and the dirt dance floor-is of course the field. and bring that chorus in means the cheerleaders cheering him on. and the bead it out digging deeper just to throw it away means, that the quarter back overthrew a pass, and the receiver trying to get it was digging his energy out to get the ball, but its either an incomplete or a interception.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song is about the US Army downrange and of the thoughts going through a soldiers mind. Wake Up People! There is more to this world than a mosh pit or Hilshire BLVD.

Since I'm a cutter or used to be, I thought it meant cutting yourself, but everyone says something else.

"bleed it out digging deeper just to through it away."
he's saying that you can try so hard but in the end it could just be worthless.

It is about oppression of people in the past and how we would celebrate victories of killing other people in times of war, but all it has done for humanity is brought us to a point of endless fighting that we call “The War on Terrorism”. It also says in the song that everything we build our lives around today is consumed by violence and nothing can stop the fighting anymore so there is no point in trying. It says that we are absolutely convinced that the only way to end this is to fight to the death because our politicians do nothing but give excuses why they can not put a stop to the problems in the world today. They say that politicians do not care about the well being of others as long as they get paid and can afford to spoil themselves. The song basically says that everyone is under the influence of the government and we are all being forced to watch our loved ones die for no reason and that everyone is going to die because there is no escape. This is what the government expects us to believe because it is all part of a huge conspiracy to kill off the poor and the weak so the world will belong to the rich and powerful. They are tired of hearing us complain about how hard things are for us down here at the bottom of the social ladder so they plan to kill off all of us so they do not have to deal with it. If they decide to spend money on helping us have the things we need to survive, then they will not be able to afford those million dollar homes with plasma televisions on every wall inside. Rich people do not believe in donations. Every penny spent is a loan to whatever it goes toward and is expected to be paid back in full as soon as possible. The world strongly needs to realize that when the rich wage war it is the poor who die. That is the meaning of the song Bleed It Out and I like that song because I strongly believe it and agree with it.

I find it very simple, his life sucks, "bleed it out" means to cut your wrists, "shotgun opera lock and load" is a very unhappy line practically saying shotgun bullets every where, going off, and it goes off so much it should be an opera, I could go on, but there very simple technical terms.

Anyone else find it strange that it seems as though the song is referring to the song itself? "Bring that chorus in", "rolling in every verse"?

I could very well be wrong, but I'm thinking it's just a basic concert mosh song, "Make the dirt dance floor again" just reminds me of moshing.

I believe when they were writing this line: "Say your prayers and stomp it out
When they bring that chorus in"

i think they wanted you to forget all your worries and sing along with them because it would make everything all better again. ^_^

Just about oppression and letting all that in the past go
Hence "find A New Place To hang This noose"

It's hard to decipher exactly what Mike is saying, but from what I can interpret, he feels like someone is trying to keep him down, or bury him, hence the, "Make it a dirt dance floor again". This refers to him being buried, and people celebrated his death over his grave.
