Waiting for the End Lyrics

[Mike:]
This is not the end, this is not the beginning
Just a voice like a riot rocking every revision
But you listen to the tone and the violent rhythm
Though the words sound steady something empty's within them
We say yeah with fists...

I also think the song is about a failed relationship...Both cared a lot about each other, but the one singing the song did not feel completely in love with her. He didn't want to hurt her but he knew he did and he feels guilty for it..Still there were feelings from his side but he did not know how to express them or explain it to her. Now he feels sad for breaking her heart and kinda regrets it but he knows it's for the best and that both should move on..It's a song about a man realising he loves the girl, but is not in love with her, and feels really bad about letting her go..He misses her and wishes he could still see her, but he knows it's unfair because she is in love with him.

Haha, my ex posted this song on his facebook wall after he broke up with me and I didn't want contact with me. I think he was trying to tell me he's really sorry he hurt me but he's hurting too and waiting with me for the pain to go away. He was a lot older than me, and I think we weren't compatible in a romantic way but still loved each other. He knew he had to let me go completely for me to move on, but it was still hard for him to see me in pain..So in a way he is holding on to me and our memories but he's having a hard time accepting it's completely over as he did love and care for me but more in a brotherly way. It was just too painfull for me to still see him, so I broke off all contact. After a month of not talking he posted this song on his wall and then shortly after deleted his facebook account completely. We both know it's for the best but we're struggling to accept the fact that it's over and we're never going to see each other again. I know that song was for me :'(

i dont think its about a relationship because in general a thousand suns is about human fear and such. i think it may be a nuclear war and someone (maybe a soldier) is 'waiting for the end to come'.

'what was left when that fire was gone/ i thought it felt right but that right was wrong'

a nuke blew up a town or city. nothing was left. the ones who dropped the nuke thought it was right but it was really wrong.

i cant really do all the sng because of my comps sluggishness but thats just my thought. i really dont think its a love song. because look at the albums title a thousand suns. from the bhagavad gita of hindu sanskrit scripture. 'If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky...' it refers to an exploding bomb. linkin park did all those songs about relationships and trust etc. in thealbums preceding a thousand suns. esp. hybrid theory. a thousand suns is about war and politics and if you ask me a little bit of faith. so if you think differently tell me. ill be on a faster computer soon. and ill go over the lyrics. but whats up with the video? if any of our ideas are right then whats the vid supposed to be?

I think it means that he/she was in a relationship and they broke up. He/she was in love with the other and it was hard for them to move on.

i think its about a lie that you regret ever happening.. and you have everything messed up..

mike:"All caught up in the eye of the storm" means your in the middle and every one is the storm thats around you

mike:'My mouth kept moving and my mind went dead" means that you said something you regretted ever saying

This song makes me think of how we all sometimes just live in fear and just want to move on with life but sometimes we get frightened and instead wait for the "end" to come to us but sometimes we just have to start from scratch and we do that through our whole life which isn't a beginning or an end but rather a whole experience of change out of fear or even sometimes a fear to change

Its about a relationship. They love each other a lot. But one of them doesn't feel the same exact way and it's hard for them to let the other person go. They know it wasnt meant yo be and although memories were made he/she must find yhe strength to move on cuz if he/she isnt truly in love they're holding on to something thats not really there

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

i get the idea that someone was out of control--mental illness or drugs and said and did things that trashed some relationships. now he is waiting for the end and trying to figure out how to move on. now this person sees the true emptiness of what they thought was real.

I can relate to every word of this beautiful song in the sudden the loss of my big brother. I relate this song to coming to grips of the reality of losing someone was closest to you and that you loved with all your heart.
It's been 5 years for me and it hasn't gotten easier, "I'm holding on to what I haven't got." (My brother)
"It's out of my control." "So many things were left unsaid." "It's hard to let you go." "I know how it feels to lie" (and make it look like I'm "OK".)
"I try, but I'll never move on." "Life has flown by like the speed of light" (since he left me and it scares me that it feels like it was just yesterday I spoke to him.)
I'm always sitting in an empty room trying to understand why it wasn't meant to last...

ononomouse - A Story of the contemplation of the end of a LOVE fair between God, Earth & Man. God or(insert your name for creator of infinity). Has been around for ever, lost to some form of time that does not even exist yet. The love of his/her first, beautiful, favorite rock (earth). At the center of everything, surrounded by all the galaxies. Populated by the cute favorite little creatures called man. After a lengthy relationship that repeats over & over again. God has now decided to let man decide his own fate of ever being. Of course, earth is sad at this decision & continues to allow man to exist. Considering that man is constantly destructive, consuming everything that comes in contact with him. Earth is willing to expend itself to allow man more time. Even if it is against the wishes of God to let man choose . . . extending the End a little longer.
