Louis Tomlinson: Too Young Meaning
Too Young Lyrics
We were too young
To know we had everything
Too young
I wish I could’ve seen it all?along
I’m?sorry that I?hurt you, darling, no oh
We were?too young
[Verse 1]
I’ve been looking back a lot of ways
You and me is all I’ve ever...

#1 top rated interpretation:If you watch the track by track video he says that there is pressure being put on by finding the girl you are gonna spend the rest of your life with at 18... Louis met eleanor (which is who he said most of the tracks on the walls album is about) buuuut Louis met eleanor when he was 20. He met Harry when he was... you guessed it 18.

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:Its funny that he writes "you and me is all I've ever known" despite having multiple beards (im a larrie for context). Its oBvIoUsLy not about Harry though because 20 is still really young right? And he had to cut off eleanor? And people said him and eleanor would never make it? Yeah I don't remember that happening. The song has Harry written all over it.

#3 top rated interpretation:The one direction management team wouldn't let Louis and Harry be together, so now he is saying sorry to harry for letting them pressure him, and that they should have stood up to them and been happy together

Looking at the words it’s been 2years since I saw your face ??? If this was written after 2017 wasn’t he back with Eleanor so if it’s about her why say I’ve not seen your face in 2yrs and why would management put pressure on them when they preferred them to have girlfriends??????
-
I agree with all of your interpretations, but I’m just sitting here laughing because there isn’t a single one of these that say it’s about Eleanor
-
I think that this song is about Harry. It says "I can't believe I gave in to the pressure." This could be about management telling them that they couldn't be together and Louis giving into it. Then it says "face to face at the kitchen table." Harry has a song called From the Dining Table which makes me think that they shared some moment at a table. Later on in Louis' song it also says "It's been two years since I've seen your face I'm tryna find some better words to say." From the Dining Table says "comfortable silence is so overrated, why won't you ever say what you want to say." I think that this is meaning that Louis wants to apologize to Harry but he can't find the words to say it when they finally meet up again.
-
it think it is about Lou saying sorry too Hazza "not seeing you after 2 years" or whatever the lyrics are. some parts are probably about management like [Pre-Chorus]
"Oh, I can't believe I gave in to the pressure
When they said a love like this would never last
So I cut you off 'cause I didn't know no better
Now I realize, yeah, I realize"
or like a lot of his song he might be trying to talk through them. there are a lot of opinions/assumptions/options. IDK. -
I feel like he wrote this song right before talking to Harry, after not seeing him for 2 years. As he says: "face to face at the kitchen table, this is everything I've waited for. Now we can finally have the conversation, that I wish we could have had before." Like humans do, we imagine how things would happen before they actually happen, like when going on a date or something. That's what I think Lou did. H and L decided to talk and Louis is thinking about how they would sit at the kitchen table and what they're going to talk about. Also the breakup because of management and that he was too young to realise seems obvious, just haven't seen this interpretation yet.

This song is very clearly about Harry Styles. The lyrics make it obvious. It is like an apology to Harry as the management did not allow them to be in a gay relationshop and he "gave into the pressure". In his track by track youtube video about this song, he says its about "the girl" that you meet at the age of 18. He is currently "supposedly" with Eleanor Calder. They have been together on and off since 2012. When they met, Louis was 20. The only person the song could have been about is Harry especially because he said the 18 thing in his video!

I honestly think, 'Too Young' is about Harry Styles. 'I've been looking back lately, you and me is all I've ever known', if you are a Directioner, I'm sure you have seen all the Larry proofs. He means him and Harry aka Larry is all he has ever known. 'I can't believe I gave into the pressure' The pressure Simon/ management put them under. 'When they said a love like this would never last'. That's quite self explanatory. A gay relationship. Because apparently if those two would've dated girls wouldn't fangirl over them. Which we all know isn't true. Cuz we want Larry to be real. 'So I cut you off, cuz I didn't know about better'. He signed the contract, he wanted to save their careers, he didn't know that this would effect their relationship THAT much. He cut Harry off... 'Now I realize we were too young, to know we had everything'. I mean c'mon, the way they looked at each other. They did have everything, because they had eachother. 'I wish I could have seen it all along'. So instead of signing the contract, he'd just be open and come out. Pick their relationship above the careers. 'I'm sorry that I hurt you darlin'. His apology to Harry. OHH, and 'It's hard to think you could ever hate me'. They were clearly EXTREMELY in love, and with Harry's kind heart (TPWK), it's hard for Louis to think Harry could hate him. I think Harry's just hurt. Harry didn't know about the contract. But Louis thinks that Harry hates him.
I just want them to be happy... -
This is Louis Tomlinson's apology to Harry Styles for breaking up with him. Management didn't want them to be together or for their relationship to be public and they pressured the two until they broke up. This may have been part of the reason the band broke up as well. Louis says "I've been looking back a lot lately" and continues to talk about what happened. The chorus goes, "Oh, I can't believe I gave into the pressure, when they said a love like this would never last" Which points to what management was saying to them when they were together. He says he was too young to realize.
Also, it says "It's been two years since I've seen your face," which may mean this song was written about two years after one direction's break, or two years after louis saw harry and the other boys when his mom died (That would mean it was written in early 2019.) If it wasn't written at these times, it's possible Louis saw Harry at some other point between two years before he wrote the song.
Another clue to this is what Louis has said about the song, which is that the person singing was 18 years old when they were "too young." Louis was 18 when he and Harry first met.
This is just my interpretation of the lyrics, and this song may not be about this. Feel free to see it in any way you would like. -
i think this song is basically Louis apologizing to harry. when he said "cuz i cut you off cuz i didn't know no better" meaning the management didn't let them be theirselves and Louis listened. i think when he said somewhere in the song along the lines of i haven't seen you in 2 years i think maybe they saw each other in 2018..? but i think Louis wrote this song a while ago or that they really met after the hiatus. i think songs are Louis' way of expressing feelings and i think this one was apologizing to harry.
-
i personally think that it means “i can’t believe i gave into the pressure” for signing the contract that changed the band.
and with “when they say a love like this would never last” larry stylinson moment,
and lastly “so i cut you off so i didn’t know no better” is for the band as they went on a break or harry and louis stopped talking -
There is no way that this song isn't for Harry. The lyrics all point towards Louis not being able to understand his feelings because he was too young and the on top of that the pressure of the band was messing with his head.
-
along with everyone else, i think this is louie's way of apologising to harry, hense saying they were too young to know they had it all, and when he said i cant believe i gave into the pressure, probably meaning that he should of stood up for them, and he said he wishes he could of seen it, so it probably means he regrets it too. i swear down if they dont get married or smth-
-
this song is lou’s apology to Harry because management basically forced them to be straight and louis didn’t know what to do because they were too young, like he says in the song. that’s why he accidentally hurt haz.
-
'I cant believe that i gave into the pressure, when they said a love like this would never last' I think is about management saying that a gay love would destroy the career
'I'm sorry that i hurt you darling, we were too young'
Louis saying this to harry, that he is sorry for hurting him, and that he was too young to understand -
I think this song is Louis saying sorry to Harry for letting go of him because Louis was young and didnt know what to do
