Lovejoy: Call Me What You Like Meaning
Song Released: 2023
Call Me What You Like Lyrics
She never felt that safe in her own head
We both hate the news
The feel of grace of god goes you
Smiling when I ask if she's bored yet
Wonder if we took it too far
We both taste confused
Darling, what am I...

I heard wilbur say somewhere that this song is about the part of a relationship where you dont know if you should put a label on it or smth?? and he's saying that "you call me what you like, as long as you call me" as in you can call me your bf or just a friend as long as we continuse what we have.

I think this song is about paranoia and obsession killing a relationship. The singer is paranoid that his girlfriend may be cheating on him (and maybe more) and rapidly descends as the relationship gets more and more volatile.
He's in her mom's bedroom because he's looking for evidence. He's inconsistent with how he handles it and seems obsessive over her to the point to where he's fine with her insulting him if it means that she's talking to him. He begs for her to let him follow her.
In the music video the plane crashes as Wilbur finally notices it's decent, which can be seen as him only realizing his awful behavior once the relationship has already fallen apart -
I think that this song is about Wilburs ex, as said from one of his tiktok's. this ex, is paranoid about something. and wilbur is also. he's paranoid about her, and what she'll do. Wilburs ex is maybe paranoid about still being with wilbur after maybe liking another man or having an affair??? im not quite sure. all I know is that maybe wilbur is trying to comfort her because he knows about all the things she's done. for example, "you could kiss the skin from my lips if it makes you feel better" look at the "if it makes you feel better." this song is a confusing one :)
