Maroon 5: Animals Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Animals Lyrics
Baby I'm preying on you tonight
Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals
Animals
Like animals
Maybe you think that you can hide
I can smell your scent for miles
Just like animals
Animals
Like animals
Baby I'm
So what you...
-
I honestly think it is talking about a girl he really likes. And she likes him for sex but nothing else. In the verses, "that beast in side" or "when I'm inside" or "hear you making that sound" its about them having hardcore, and really hood sex which is why its hard for them to let go of each other.
-
I think its trying to explain that he is a stalker/serial killer that
He is probably going after his victims and killing them for the fun of it. Aka like a werewolf that can't control himself whenhe sees you. The part when hes in some sort of meat basement those i think are the animals and victims that got cought in the killing. Thats what i think not so sure but for me it makes scenes to me -
It isn't about gross stuff like that it is about a guy liking a girl and in the phrase "baby I'm preying on u tonight hunt u down eat u alive" means that he is looking "preying" to find a way to get to her and "hunt you down" means to find anyway to get to her even if it takes hard work and "eat you alive" means to just be with his crush for a while and stay with her and throughout the song they get together but they break up which explains the phrase "you can start over you can run free you can find other fish in the sea" and the phrase "I can still hear u making that sound" means that he loves her so much he keeps thinking about her in his head
-
Rape
-
Yeah, you can start over you can run free
You can find other fish in the sea
You can pretend it's meant to be
But you can't stay away from me
As these lines suggests guy is addicted to the girl even after they broke up but girl wants to move on.Although she tries to get over him,she cant get over her feelings. -
I think he is just in love and can't controll himself. He thinks it's true love, but in my opinon it's rather occupation than love. He can't deny his desire for that woman and wants to do sex with her. I guess he may rape that girl if he gets the opportunity. Hi is a dangerous man, if I were her I move to another city.
-
He's talking about a woman, probably an ex, whom he can't get over, and resorts to stalking. He insinuates raping her, and relates them to animals, saying that she is the prey, aka victim, and that he is the predator who is going to stalk her until he gets his kill. The video is horrifying and truly shows what this song is about: savaging men stalking and raping their victims. In the video he sees her at a meat packing store, which he works at, and later stalks her home. He takes pictures of her, breaks into her home, and takes pictures of her sneaking and sneaks into her bed, picturing them making out, later with blood pouring down on them. The video constantly goes back to him in a room full of carcasses of dead animals hanging from the ceiling as he touches them and hangs from them, while wiping the blood of dead animals onto himself. It is deplorable.
-
I interpret it as rape.
-
Very awkward. Like the video. Very sadistic and psychopathetic. It's all about a man who wants to "sex" the girl.
-
it's about sex
-
He's just talking about sex ...
