Misery Lyrics

Misery
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
So scared of breaking it
But you won't let it bend
And I wrote two hundred letters
I won't ever send
Somehow it is cut so much
Deeper then they seem
You'd rather cover up
I'd rather let them be
So let me be
And...

“So scared of breaking it that you won’t let it bend”- she’s scared of the relationship ending badly, so she doesn’t allow it to get serious/ wants to end it

“And I wrote two hundred letters I will never send”- either to release his emotions/ apology letters or letters to convince her to stay that he’s never able to bring himself to send

“Sometimes these cuts are so much deeper than they seem”- the relationship issues are always more severe than they appear to be/ she hurts him more than she realises

“You’d rather cover up, I’d rather let them bleed”- there’s lack of communication in the relationship. She wants to hide her feelings or won’t open up to him and talk

i think it means that the girl really liked him from the beginning and wanted them to be more and he tortured her but he really didn't know that and when he finally started showing he liked her she was so pissed of she made him feel what she was feeling from the beginning, so she basically took revenge and he talks about how he's sorry he didn't show it before but meant it so mainly she;s taking revenge

When I heard this song, especially the part,

"You say your faith is shaken
    You may be mistaken
You keep me wide awake and
    Waiting for the sun
    I'm desperate and confused
    So far away from you
    I'm getting there
Don't care where I have to go.

I figured it was he cheated, and she's torturing him for it. May also be because it's what i feel when I see the song, cause my fiance cheated on me. "You say your faith is shaken. We stay up all night "waiting for the sun" He always says he was just confused, and just wants "us back" and he'll do anything to get it back "I'm desperate and confused, so far away from you. I'm getting there, don't care where I have to go" Everyone sees it differently I guess it depends on your situation.

I think this song is about a girl he really likes and she hurts him & leads him on (thus the line ("i am in misery, there aint no other who can comfort me")
