Guiding Light Lyrics
In my hands, they crumble,
Fragile and stripped to the core,

It seems like Matt is saying that he is in a position where people admire him and tell him their secrets and how they tell him about "stumbling". He leads them on a path that ultimately causes them to "crumble". He regrets this and looks to the person who is his guiding light. They seperarated because he hurt her, but he still watches her as she becomes detached from the world. Unable to connect with her, he sees hope slip through their fingers. This lament ends with him seeing every sense of purpose and justice being crushed by a soulless dictatorship.
