Muse: Hoodoo Meaning
Hoodoo Lyrics
Hoodoo
Black Holes & Revelations
Come into my life
Regress into a dream
We will hide and build a new reality
Draw another picture of the life you could have had
Follow your instincts and choose the other path
You should never be...

Hoodoo is about redeeming your manhood and dignity. A macho western and borderline romantic era piano solo complete with orchestral string figures shows how a hollow geologic sandstone structure found in the desert is all show and strong, but weak or empty in one aream. Like macho. Hoodoo can also mean a form of black magic in a less common, obsolete definition. It employs tragic imagery of a predestined tragic life full of crisis. "I will take the blow for you" is about this macho man's hoodoo or hero comple saving the day and saving us from the pain. Its a heroic song that revs up your emotion and sends goose bumps crawling up your arms with each listen. This has been annonymouses in depth critique of Hoodoo. You have to listen to it. What do you think?
