Muse: Knights of Cydonia Meaning
Knights of Cydonia Lyrics
Through the veins of history
I'll show you a god
Who falls asleep on the job
And how can we win
When fools can be kings
Don't waste your time
Or time will waste you
No one's gonna take me alive
The time has come to...
-
Honestly I think this song could be interpreted in many ways. Sure, if you're on the lookout for puns, you could find a few. However, where it says:
Come ride with my
Through the veins of history
I'll show you a god
Who falls asleep on the job,
I feel as though this is talking about some of the stupid people in the world who have attempted to run things, presidents and other rulers who have their assistants and what not DO their work FOR THEM aka write speeches. The later parts of the song make me wonder if this guy's out to change things, and, like those who fought to break free of Hitler and Slavery, will run and try and escape OR change things until they succeed or die.
