Muse - Map of the Problematique Meaning
Map of the Problematique Lyrics
And panic in the air;
I want to be free
From desolation and despair.
And I feel
Like everything I sow
Is being swept away;
Well, I refuse to let you go!
I can't get it right...
Get it right...
Since I met you.
Loneliness be...
-
I feel that this song is about being alone, not having a partner/girlfriend/boyfriend, and then seeing someone and falling in love. Ever since he met her his life isn't on track. He falls in love with a girl after he sees her, but he hasn't told her. He loves her, but she doesn't see it. He wants to "touch the other side" because she cannot see how much he loves her. He starts to blame everyone around him even though it is not anyone's fault. He is so lost without her that he can't get anything right.
(sorry the sentences are a little bland, but I listened to the song as I wrote.) -
I guess it means everything he's doing, he thinks it's wrong, and since his Girlfriend left him, he's lonely and everything he does is problematic (hence the name) and he wishes he could've done the right thing. He wishes he could've started over.
