Muse: Pink Ego Box Meaning
Pink Ego Box Lyrics
Can’t afford another day,
At 50 bytes per second.
I’ve never seen your face,
I’ve never heard your voice.
But I think I like it,
When you instant message me,
With a promise.
I can feel it;
I can tell you're gonna be......
-
I think it's about an online relationship between two people who have never seen each other in real life, hence the lines "I’ve never seen your face, I’ve never heard your voice. But I think I like it, When you instant message me, With a promise."
I also get the feeling that one of the people may be a stalker of some kind, due to the sinister sounding instrumental parts at the beginning and end.
I think they also arrange to meet in real life, which causes the lines "I know you're gonna be...just like me" as the person waits for their meeting. Then when they do meet, it turns out the person wasn't like who they thought they'd be and the relationship ends, causing the angry and noisy ending and the lyics "you turn...you turn...you turn on me". There you go, that's my two cents.
