#1 top rated interpretation:I always thought the meaning of this song was straight forward. This song is about homosexual love that is then (80’s)illegal in Britain due to this horrendous law that won’t allow homosexual relations if you are under 26. I assume the “crucial point” is where point is the love between the men is now a crime with this law. This song, gay or straight, should be heart wrenching in that if your love for another comes with jail sentence. The law is called “Age of Consent”.
