Thieves Like Us Lyrics
It's always the same
I've studied the cracks and the wrinkles
You were always so vain
Well, now you live your life like a shadow
In the pouring rain
Oh, it's called love
Yes, it's called love
Oh, it's...
-
Well, I do think this song is about love, not love between lovers but Love in general. Without it, nothing will be ok. The first part is about someone older with whom he (Bernard) shared no love. Al elderly person (Father? Mother?). The rest is about how love can support you, make you grow, overcome things etc.
The 'so uncool' and 'cuts your life' could mean that this kind of love makes you humble and accept things as they are.
