NF: Wake Up Meaning
Wake Up Lyrics
You spend your life in a dream that you can't escape 'Cause you live your life in a coma, you're never awake If you'd open your eyes then maybe you'd see what's at stake You're sleeping, you're sleeping
You make a lot of money and...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think NF is saying that we often chase after things (and by that I mean putting our life into pursuing) that aren't really important, things such as money, friends, fame, love (often romantic love), popularity, beauty and many many other things. We chase these things to try and satisfy our desires, but none of them can. The only thing that can give us a real and fulfilling life is God. I think what NF is getting at is that when we are chasing all these other things, we are not really living, almost like we're asleep. We end up unsatisfied, with a huge burden and a huge emptiness inside. We all need God to fill that hole, but sometimes we don't know it. NF says the "problem is that you don't know what you're after". I think we don't know that we are after God. We know we want security, but we look for it in money. We know we want acceptance, but we look for it in friends and fame. We know we want beauty, but we look for it aesthetically, starving ourselves and layering on makeup. We know we want a purpose, but we look for it in a job. These things won't give us what we're looking for. Only God can satisfy these desires. He holds us, accepts and loves us completely, beautifies our souls and gives us a purpose. NF is saying that we need to live for a reason, if we're not living for God, we're not really living at all. We are not experiencing "life to the fullest", we are not getting the most out of life. When we wander through our days for no reason, it's just like we're sleepwalking.
If you are struggling with your faith, please talk to a local church member or a trusted Christian friend and remember that the Bible is there to help.
"And what shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" Romans 8:31 -
I believe that NF means that we want perfect lives and (I am not saying all of us do this) if it isn’t perfect we ask God to give us more and that we need to wake up from this accusation he will give us more then what we have, he may not mean this but this is what I got from it.

I think NF lyrics is very understandable. It's true we need God in our lives and there is a purpose why we were born here on earth. We should be cautious of how we live our life here on earth.
" But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement." Matthew 12:36
" Jesus said unto him. THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND. " Matthew 22:37
" For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Mark 8: 36-36
" Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." I John 2:15-16
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2
Peace out. God Bless
