Niall Horan: Dear Patience Meaning

This song personifies patience and is literally a letter to patience. Based on the specific placement and concept behind this album, I believe this song is Niall realizing he is going too fast in this relationship. He feels like he needs to slow down and not dwell on the future so much because it will make things go fast. One of my favorite lines from the song is "Can we share a drink and let go of the pressure" which explains that he feels pressure to move quickly through this relationship (most likely from his partner). It's not something he wants to do. He needs reassurance that what he is doing is right, and good for him. It's entirely a plead to be patient and in doing so, not lose his partner.
