   In my opinion, this song represents girls who are insecure about themselves and thinks very low of themselves. It is about a girl who wants someone to love her and hold her giving her the assurance she needs.
   Later,niall continues to bring a happy part to the song where a guy comes in her life and she starts falling for her. "skies are blue, haven't been for a while" symbolizes that her life was pale before, as pale as a dark sky, but now it is turning to a happier part of it, metaphorically described by the optimism blur skies depict.
   But again the start chorus is repeated in the later part, which as per what I think means that, the sky didn't stay blue for long enough
   The guy who made her feel good about herself probably just didn't noticed her after that one interaction or broke her heart, which again brings up all her insecurities along with the feeling of loneliness and a pale life.
   This is what i could interpret out of this.

   I think the meaning of the song is about a girl who is struggling with her body and how she sees herself. In the first verse leading up to the chorus, he explains her feelings of loneliness and sadness. It gives a mood (sadness, hatred, etc.) using how she sees herself through her eyes. Niall then begins the second verse with a guy telling this girl that she is beautiful and that automatically switches the mood. The song is becoming a little happier and uplifting. He uses the phrase "Skies are blue, haven't been for a while" which is probably my favorite lyric to explain the change in mood furthermore, symbolizing happiness finally for her. The moment you think more happy lyrics will becoming the chorus repeats itself. I personally think it's showing how just one interaction can have an effect on someone, but it's completely how you interpret it.

   i belive niall has said this when he has preformed this , it is about and for girls who struggle with body image and how society makes us feel."She closed the door

   She looks into her mirror
   Wishing someone could hear her, so loud i mean
