   Hes talking about where he grew up as if they were a person and saying that no matter where i am he still thinks about where he began, if the whole world was watching id still dance with you can mean that he isnt ashamed of where he began and he would gladly move back as it was his home like a partner they were meant together

   I think this song is about him feeling deep pain ever since the girl he loved his whole life breaks up with him. He is talking his deep feelings for her and how she means everything to him. He wishes he could tell her this now.

This song makes me emotional cuz the same thing happened to me....Niall also talks about the old town that he lives in, that he and his ex have both stayed and lived in it since they were kids.
