Nickelback: Photograph Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Photograph Lyrics
Every time I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red?
And what the hell is on Joey’s head?
And This is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we ever went without
The second...

i think this song is about looking back at your life and
realizing even if it was not perfect, it was your life and you lived it the way you wanted, regardless of the consequenses, even if there are some things you would like to change about it. -
Being from a small town, I think this song signifies the torn nature of the smalltown kid. The kid grows up with a dream and finds out late in high school that the town has no place for that dream to become fulfilled. So he lashes out, he's the outcast, he's the kid who breaks into the school and hangs with the wrong crowd.
Now he's older, has made his dreams happen, and now he wants to relive the past. He wishes that he could have stayed, but he knows that he would never change the fact he left the town because he wouldn't have succeeded staying there. So he's left looking for his old buddies in photographs and praying he'll find them again someday. But success changes things; friends who did not achieve their dreams become jealous, and on a certain level the success morphs their relationship from friendship to star/fan. The dynamic he's looking for is lost for good. -
Someone looking through their pictures and remembering their past and compaing it to how they are now. They lost friends and gained them. They remember their first loves and how stupid they used to be. "I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for...If I could relive those days I know the one thing that would never change" they wouldnt change what they had in the past?

I believe this song is about the artist(Chad Kroeger) looking back on his teenage years and remembering the good times and the bad.
I believe this is a very personal song for Chad where he looks back at his first kiss and wonders how she is doing now, and he looks back to the time he got busted for breaking into his old high school.
This song is just an internal battle in Chad's head over wether to stay in his hometown and live never knowing what else is out there or leave everything behind and live life to its fullest. -
I believe it's about the artist going back to where they grew up and re experiencing everything and seeing all the changes then syaingoodbye to his childhood an dmoving on.
