Nickelback: Sea Groove Meaning
Sea Groove Lyrics
That what you just gave
Nothing left to heal
Nothing left to save
Given half a chance
Given what we've spent
I will not repay
I will not repent
I don't want to leave
I don't want to stay
Get away from me
Stay the hell...
-
I personally feel like this song is about giving up and giving in along side change in life "I will give up my way" they are giving up the way they live and do things possibly to get back someone who they have lost for example the lines "In open hand, unopened gift" and "A decades been since you've been gone
Mend the cracks and say so long" because they wanted their loved one to return however she still left so it repeats the lines "Take away from me
That what you just gave
Nothing left to heal
Nothing left to save
Given half a chance
Given what we've spent
I will not repay
I will not repent" so in conclusion she gave him her heart then took it back and left there was nothing to save the relationship was over he still loves her and wants her back but she was still done and moved on thus this song is about a dead relationship that can't be salvaged though "mend the cracks" could mean they salvaged forgiveness but they did not tie the knot and never will they moved on but could fully forget her. -
This song is about "Stockholme syndrome" the person has been kidnapped but now they are resisting rescue "I don't want to leave" "I don't want to stay" "I will give up my mind" "Give up my way" after a while the person started to identify with the kidnapper and accepted that things won't be the same anymore.
