Nightwish: Dark Chest Of Wonders Meaning
Dark Chest Of Wonders Lyrics
And this is it
Once there was a child's dream
One night the clock struck twelve
The window open wide
Once there was a child's heart
The age I learned to fly
And took a step outside
Once I knew all the tales
It's time to turn...
-
It's more than just the inner mind. In another song I believe they directly reference this song (the core of all life is a limitless chest of tales). this is about life, the ups, the downs, the triumphs and the losses.

Who is the one in the Big Blue? Such a magical song.
-
Maybe 'hook' not 'peter pan' though. It speaks to returning to a time of innocence and wonder where anything is possible. Nightwish does themes very well and the album title is 'once', and the songs follow this theme for the most part.
-
come on, its peter pan all over the place
its actually sad, cos its such a cool song (that intro, omg) -
I believe the dark chest of wonders is a reference to the inner mind or the place deep within your heart where you store memories both a good and bad type place. The song refers to the wonders of a child, I think it means the inner one.
