FALL OUT BOY DID NOT WRITE THEIR SONGS!!!! RYAN ROSS WRITES THE MUSIC!!! FALL OUT BOY WRITES ABOUT SEX, MASTURBATION, AND WOMEN (I like fall out boy. I'm not trying to insult them by the way.) THE SINGER DOESN'T EVEN WRITE THE LYRICS IN FALL OUT BOY!!! pete wentz writes the lyrics. In case you don't have your facts straight, pete wentz is the BASSIST!!! just because he signs panic! at the disco to fueled by ramen/ decay dance doesn't mean that he writes their songs for them. Why ARE people so ignorant? (and whoever thinks pete writes panic!s lyrics, get your facts straight before you go and say dumb things about the best band in the whole world who actually write lyrics not about penis size or sex.)

If you think about it... The only difference between them selling out and being a sucess ("martrydom", according to another post here) or being a total flop ("suicide") with this first release is how much media attention and good reviews ("press coverage") they get.
So this is an introductory song for the band, with a nice, danceable beat. -
Yeah, it's what all you said up there! but this part: "It seems the artists these days are not who you think/So we'll pick back up on that on another page"
I think when they make a new album that's there other page! since there hole album is like a story theyll just keep adding on -
Actually no offence to the person above but martyrdom IS a REAL word if you don't believe me, here's the definition from dictionary.com:
2 entries found for martyrdom.
mar·tyr·dom ( P ) Pronunciation Key (märtr-dm)
n.
1.
a.The state of being a martyr.
b.The suffering of death by a martyr.
2. Extreme suffering of any kind.
so that may help with your interpretation -
"And I believe this may call for a proper introduction, and well, Don't you see, I'm the narrator, and this is just the prologue?" - Its simple, this song is the formal introduction to the album, the prologue to the "picturesque score of passing fantasy" that the band will take the listener through in the course of the album.
-
A lot of their songs have things to do with books by Chuck Palahniuk.
-
Here's what I think:
Sit tight I'm gonna need you to keep time
- Referring to their 15 minutes of fame
So come just snap, snap, snap your fingers for me
Good, good now we're making some progress
Come on just tap, tap, tap your toes to the beat
- The more people whole support them, the bigger they'll get, which is what they want.
And I believe, this may call for a proper introduction and well
- Referring to introducing themselves because they're new.
Don't you see, I'm the narrator and this is just the prologue...
- Brendon saying 'Hey, I'm the lead singer, this is our band, we're new, and this is our first CD (prologue).'
Swear to shake it up if you swear to listen
- Saying 'As long as we're loved, we'll keep dishing it out.'
Oh, we're still so young, desperate for attention
- They're trying to make it big, but are very young.
I, aim to be, your eyes trophy boys, trophy wives
- They want to be the ones that everyone talks and be the famous band boys with beautiful wives.
That's what I believe the song is saying! -
I think they mean that they are going to get famous and then have wives that look like dolls and they will be trophy boys because they will be so famous
-
What do they mean by trophy boys' trophy wives?
