Panic! At The Disco: There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet Meaning
There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet Lyrics
From that moment you'll be out of place and underdressed.
I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it.
Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring...

I think the part where the he says to the girl to keep saying that "im a diva" is ment to be like be telling everyone to give her attension... In other words... Look at me I'm better than anyone else!!!!

In this song he compares himself to cancer, something you really hate but just won't go away.
-
Obviously, the character which the singer sings for is infact a cancer cell. It is taking over it's host's body, and everyone is like woah!
-
I also think this song is the 4th in the "I write sins not tradgedies" series. I think the girl who left him might have just gotten married to another guy(maybe) and this is the dinner afterwards. He is now trying to ruin her wedding, like she ruined his. Ex: he poisons the cigarettes. Because he a star, everyone is paying more attention to him than to her and she "can't stand it." she goes to the bathroom and assures herself that she is still better than him, saying "i'm a diva," but she is still really upset and crying. He's starting rumors about her(that may be true) and the "please leave all overcoats, canes and top hats...) means that he is taking away all her lies and leaving her "underdressed," meaning, he is showing that she is not fit to be with her new, apparantly rich, crowd. Thank you for your time. :)

I think it's about a girl who has broken up with her boyfriend and when she sees him at this place he is starting to get all of the attention and none of the attention if focused on her. Like when the narrirator says towards the end of the song "And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up." Suggesting she is not used to going out and not getting all of the attention.
-
I think that this guy was dating this girl that was extremely popular/rich. She dumped him thinking she was too good for him. Now he comes to crash their fancy banquet and get back at his ex and all her rich friends (murdering them by spiking the punch, lacing cigs.) He acts in such an odd manor that he is getting all the attention. His ex is so upset that her ex is stealing the limelight that she rushes to the ladies room and tries to reassure herself to make herself feel stronger. She is basically saying to herself "You are better than him, You should be getting the attention."
The whole cancer thing-he's saying I'm spreading quickly and killing (back to the punch and cig. Theory) just like cancer.
I agree with the number theory too- he laced the cigs. for the table he knew his ex would be sitting at.
Its all abot bitterness/revenge. -
I agree with that girl/ boy again! this is the wedding to the 4 part trilogy! they hate eachother...she wants all the attention but he's getting it all...etc its their wedding
-
I think maybe this woman, who is maybe throwing the party, mistakedly invited her ex..maybe another woman brough t him...and he stole the fame. and she's in denial bc she believes she still deserves the fame...
lets see..
...
...
Please, leave all overcoats, canes and top hats with the doorman.
...leave all screts regrets yatta yatta
From that moment you'll be out of place and underdressed
...vulnerable and easy
I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it
...hes being wierd and stealing the spotlight.
When you're in black slacks with accentuating, off-white, pinstripes
Whoa, everything goes according to plan
....she feels good until he shows up..
...i don't know, but I think I've almost got it. Ill listen a few more times and reply again -

I thought that when he said "I'm the new cancer", he (the new guy) meant that he was spreading quickly, as in becoming more and more popular.
-
I think it's much more simple than any of that. The girl didn't like him. Now he is moving up the social society and she is the one who is missing out now instead of him. He is the "cancer" as she dying to have him, possibly the way he was dying for her before he realized she was worthless.

I think the lyrics describe fame and how you need to leave thing behind to get where you are. It also describes competition between celebrities that are always trying to re-invent themselves. The song just shows how fame turns you into an arrogant person who is completely self assured. There is one part in the song that says, “Talk to the mirror, choke back tears, and keep telling yourself that, ‘I'm a diva.’” This means people consult themselves to try to be stronger than they really are. The song’s main purpose is to say once someone newer or better enters the scene the other person is left in the dust.
