Seether: Tied My Hands Meaning
Tied My Hands Lyrics
Can you remember when
when we used to cry
Never in distress?
But can you picture then
how we used to pride
ourselves on neatness?
I can't understand, what you meant to me
You made me wild, then you tied me hands,...

This song reminds me of a 22 year friendship I had that is now broken. Trust is broken so now the friendship is lost. “Tied my hands”
-
I have always looked at this as a song to addictions. Addicts and alcoholics know that everything started out great. Realizing your hands are tied is defiantly enough to write a song about.

A broken and unhealthy relationship where the guy gave the girl everything his innocence but slowly nothing was good enough anymore but she already tied him down and took all of him that he can never get back only to throw him away like trash in the end.

All great interps guys... I think it comes down to she hooked up with you because you're cool as fuck and got wild with you. And now... not so much, you're still wild as she's ready to chill.

It's about a guy who had a gf, and they had a good relationship but the gf broke up with him. His hands are tied, she ended the relationship. He has no other choice and option but to move on with his life. Interpreted well by the new post.
Started interpreting from the song by Rev Theory -
That old saying, "My hands are tied," basically means that they have no other choice/option, or they don't have a say in the matter. For instance, you manage a store and have an employee that you have had to reprimand a few times. He breaks company policy again with a minor infraction. No big deal really. Another reprimand, but the owner wants you to fire them or you lose your job. So you are left with no other options. Your "hands are tied." So the singer was left with no other option. The question is what was it that they had to do? Move on is what I'm guessing.

To me, it's describing those first few weeks with a significant other; when you can do no wrong. Then she/he starts to get annoyed at all of your idiosyncrasies, ie. "can't you remember when we used to laugh, at those mistakes we made". Now those idiosyncrasies that she/he fell in love with are a source anger. The person who is singing, I know it's Shaun Morgan, is left dumbfounded because she/he encouraged this behavior at first and is now trying to change him/her. It's the paradoxical dichotomy in which we all live in. Shaun sings it from the first person perspective, which hits us all I the feelings because we've all been there. We've all been with someone who tries to change us after getting to know who we really are.

To me the meaning is that someone tried to control you .
-
To me tying someone's hands is making a decision for them.Like choosing to leave someone leaving the other person no say about it.

With your bf/gf everything was wild and amazing. Then one way or another your partner tied your hands.. Meaning your feelings...
Your partner made u feel wild and free then something happened and feelings were now held back and they are unsure why they cared for u in the beginning. -
I feel like it's about growing up. Losing that innocence of childhood and the freedom it holds. Just when you realize what that truly means..life happens...our hands are tied. I'm interested to see if anyone agrees.
