Ben Franklin's Kite Lyrics

Give me an answer
Why this cancer eats me away
How this restlessness
Could turn into a day.
I fear what comes first
The things that hide in the night
But I'm quaking, and shaking
Even now that it's light

And no I don't feel right
I can...

Oh WOW. I agree with the girl above me. Andrew doesn't have lung cancer, you idiots. And he isn't even sick anymore. He's been in remission and what not. Read up on your Something Corporate facts before you start blabbing out idiocricy.

You guys are ridiculous. He does not have lung cancer. Andrew was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia in June of 2005. The song 'Ben Franklin's Kite' is off the album Ready...Break that was released in 2000. Seeing as how the word 'acute' means having a rapid onset I don't think he knew he had cancer when he wrote it.

I don't have an interpretation of this song but I am 100% positive you both are wrong.

Andrew has acute lung cancer, and this song is about it. He got cancer from cigarettes.

Has anyone heard that Andrew- the lead singer- has acute something or other cancer... Is it possible he is actually talking about the cancer that is eating him away in this song and his depression or what it feels like to be scare of death...? It's a very melancholy song.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
