I Want To Save You Lyrics

Standing on the edge of morning,
scent of sex and New Found Glory
playing as she's pulling back her hair.
She drives away, she's feeling worthless;
used again, but nothing's different.
She'd stay the night but knows he doesn't care.

I don't think its about a girl sleeping with random guys. Its just one In particular, who she's in love with. He is just using her but she gives him what he wants (tying back her hair) giving a blow job..she just wishes he would love her back, tell her she's beautiful. She wishes he would show up at her work. He won't. And this song is from the point of view from the guy who IS in love with her but she doesn't even notice..bc she's so in love with the guy who doesn't care.

Standing on the edge of morning
Scent of sex and New Found Glory
Playing as she's pulling back her hair
She drives away, she's feeling worthless
    Used again, but nothing's different
She'd stay the night but knows he doesn't care

(its early morning and she's just had sex with this guy who dosnt have any feelings for her. and she has such low self esteem that she'll sleep with any guy because she thinks that its such a compliment that any guy would WANT to sleep with her, not realizing that guys would sleep with just about anyone if they were semi hot. So afterwards she feels really cheap and easy and realizes that he doesn't care about her and won't miss her so she drives back home listening to a 'new found glory' albulm and she reflects on how many times she lets guys use her for sex andeach time she expects something but realizes that each time its the same as the last)

Home by three to deafening quiet
The porch light's off, guess they forgot it
She'd cry herself to sleep but she don't dare

(she comes home and her family have all gone to bed, and gtey didn't leave th eeporch light on for her because they forgot about her and she feels so depressed and worthless but if she cries herself to sleep she'll wake her family up)

And she wants to be a model
She wants to hear she's beautiful
    She's beautiful

( she wants to be a model but because she has low self esteem she thinks that she could never really be a model because she's not beautiful, yet she yearns for someone to hold her and tell her she's beautiful)

    I want to save you
    I want to save you
I need you, save me too
    I want to save you

(the chorus reminds me of a line out of breakfast at tiffanys when 'fred' tells his decorator that he is going to save holly but that by doing so holly will also be saving him. the writer recognizes that the girl is an emotional wreck and wants to save her and love her and that if she loves him back then shell also be saving him) (or it could also mean that the chorus is sung from the point of view of the girl)

Dressed by dawn and out the door
No lights, she memorized the floor
So she could leave without being detected
( she gets up early and leaves early without making a noise or turning on a light because she dosnt want to have to talk to her family)

She works till three, it's uniform
She dreams that he'll come by the store
She prays for days when boys mean she's protected
( she works, but its just one of those 'paying the bills' kid of job - untill she can get her big modeling break and she's dreams of hollywood romance flick endings where the guy comes to the store and makes some big gesture. She thinks that if she had a boyfriend she would be happy and safe)

And she wants someone to see her
She needs to hear she's beautiful
    She's beautiful
(she wants a guy to notice her and fall in love with her because she needs to hear she's beautiful)

    And she won't sleep
    She won't sleep at all
( at night she thinks about how lonely she is and she can't sleep because she's so depressed)

I really identify with this song I feel like this girl that andrew's written about could in fact be me! its nice to know that at least one person out there understand me!

The song is about a girl who is abused by her boyfriend. From the point of view of the singer, he wants to save her from this torture and show her that she is better than this life. She lets guys use her and doesn't see what she is worth, thus he wants to show her (save her).

I think this song is about a girl that has a very low self-esteem. I think that she doesn't believe in herself and when she has sex with a guy that she is protected because she thinks that atleast they like her enough to have sex with her. even though every guy she has sex with doesn't really appreciate her. "she needs to hear she is beautiful". She needs to hear that she is okay from guys because this is the only way that she can believe herself as worth something.

I think the song is called "I want to save you" because a guy sees what she is doing to herself and he wants to be the one who will really love her for who she is and not for who she is trying to be.

I think this song is a great song for girls who have a low self -esteem and think that they need a boyfreind to feel "special".

A detailed song about a boy in love with a girl. The girl discovers she is pregnant with his child so she gets an abortion to redeem her childhood. While the boy or singer of the song is trying to show her he is there and he cares.
