System of a Down: Lonely Day Meaning
Song Released: 2006
Lonely Day Lyrics
And its mine
The most loneliest day of my life
Such a lonely day
Should be banned
It's a day that I can't stand
The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life
Such a lonely day
Shouldn't...

so far, every interpretation ice seen on here has the same meaning:"I lost my best friend." At the end of the song there are the lyrics " It's a day I'm glad i survived." When i hear that, I think the singer is stating that he had almost commited suicide but learned how to deal with the pressure.
-
I'm pretty sure either Daron or Serj's brother was killed in a fire, that is why there are fires in the music video.

Im the one that submitted the last interpretation and I wanted to add that "its a day I'm glad I survived" may mean that he's glad he didn't kill himself
-
well the part "and if you die, i wanna die with you" is referring to maybe if a certain loved one dies that they would probably commit suicide. and "take my hand and walk away" could mean that they were with the loved when they died and that they were holding their hand, also that the loved one wanted them to let go and live on with their lives.
-
The reason why this song was made because Daron lost his Grandfather. He was the closest person to Daron, even his dad. He said so in one of his interviews.
-
I think you're all wrong.
The song's about the Armenian genocide , that's why "it's such a lonely day" = EVERYONE'S FUCKING DEAD -
Well the song could be about the armenian genocide because all their grandfathers are survivers at the end
its such a lonely day and I'm glad to have survived -
I think that this person just feels like there is no one to go to nowhere to turn and that he has to face things by himself. I truly don't think that this has anything to do with the war so sorry but that's just weird. maybe he feels left out in the world. I know the truearial person already said it meant whatever he said but this is my opinion.

Could it be about Valentine's Day?
-
Well personally I thought that from the music video, it kinda had one of those 9/11 feelings, with like every one's stuff on fire. Actully I laughed the first time I saw it because it was all normal and then there's a traffic light on fire.... one of those "what the hell?" momments.
