Taylor Swift: Sparks Fly Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Sparks Fly Lyrics
And I'm a house of cards
You're the kind of reckless
That should send me running but I
Kinda know that I won't get far
And you stood there in front of me
Just close enough to touch
Close enough...

I think this song is about someone falling hard for a guy and he has feelings back. But she is at the same time nervous about letting him in. And she sees "sparks fly" whenever he smiles, which just makes the song. It really is an adorable song i really relate to
-
It's quite obviously about her lusting after someone (I heard Jake Owen, because she opened up for him in Portland way back when - http://www.countrymusicislove.com/2010/11/is-jake-owen-the-subject-of-taylor-swifts-sparks-fly.html and the lyrics would make sense) and wanting him to "make love", to put it bluntly I guess, with her. I don't mean to say it's a dirty song, it's not, but it definitely seems to be about wanting this man to get intimate with her. It's quite obvious by the following lines -
“Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain, kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain. Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile. Get me with those green eyes, baby as the lights go down. Give me something that’ll haunt me when you’re not around”
"I run my fingers through your hair
And watch the lights go wild
Just keep on keepin’ your eyes on me
It’s just wrong enough to make it feel right
And lead me up the staircase
Won’t you whisper soft and slow
I’m captivated by you baby
Like a firework show" -
well some of you guys think its about LOVE but if you bought her album there is a secret message which is:PORTLAND,OREGON which she performed her Fearless Tour, "And you stood there in front of me just close enough the touch" she was describing the fans that were trying to touch her, she also describe another concert on Japan "Drop everything now, meet me in the puring rain" cause in a blog that i watched from here she said that even though it was raining hard the japaneses stayed there to watch and in the statement "im on my guard for the rest of the world, but with you i know it's no good" her guards were guarding but she really wanted to go to here fans because she treats them as friends
hope this helps ;) (rate:P) -
This song is about loving someone that you can't have because they are with someone else...but every time you see them "sparks fly" and you want them to drop everything (or the person they are currently with). By doing that it would take away the pain of seeing them with the other person.

I think this song is about her liking someone but knowing that she cant get him and that she has no chance but she trys anyways and feels hurt cuz its not getting her anywhere...
-
This song is obviously very personal, about falling hard for someone. The way it's sung and the lyrics just sound like she's uncontrollably in love with this guy. She's wanting him so bad, and he might not be the best guy for her but she doesn't care, "My mind forgets to remind me you're a bad idea/You're the kind of reckless that should send me running but i kind of know that i won't get far." In the original lyrics, there is a line that says "Gonna strike this match tonight." and she talks about being in a bar. I think this song is describing a specific night in her life that's very special to her.
-
I think that this song is about having feelings for somebody but not being sure if they feel the exact same way. Whenever I hear this song I think of my ex because I have such strong feelings for him but I dont think he wants what I want. I dont think he is as serious about it as I am so it should send me running yet I know im not going to go anywhere because I love him to much. She is an amazing song writer and is clearly very talented.

Sparks fly is about the first perfect days when you are with the one you love. Whenever he smiles at you, your heart skips a beat, and you feel realy good, etc. All you really want is for him to "drop everything now, meet you in the pouring rain, kiss you on the sidewalk, and take away the pain." This song describes the feelings and thoughts that come to mind.

It spells out Portland Oregon

This song is about a fan Taylor Swift met at a concert. Taylor did not know anything about him but felt "sparks fly" when she was near him. She says that he will know the song is about him because she uses phrases that he used when he met her.
-
I always thought of this as her being in love with this guy but not wanting to take the jump because she's not sure how he really feels or he won't show enough love, 'I really wish you would, drop everything now...'
-
We (L and R) think that this song is a very detailed yet vague and not obvious description of a girl (possibly Taylor Swift herself) doing "something" with a guy she really likes.
-
it's a really old song that she wrote when she was 16 :) she changed the lyrics because...well she's grown up now. but whenever someone asked her what this song was about, she never said. she just smiled.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think it's about longing for someone but not sure yet if you wanna jump.
