Taylor Swift: Ours Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Ours Lyrics
Strangers silence makes me wanna take the stairs
If you were here we'd laugh about their vacant stares
But right now my time is theirs
Seems like there's always someone who disapproves
They'll judge it like...

#1 top rated interpretation:It's about falling in love with a guy that people are deciding isn't the one for you. You don't listen to them, though, and you'll love him for who he is, even if everyone else doesn't.

#2 top rated interpretation:In my opinion, this song is about two people who fall in love, but the rest of the world doesnt think they are right for eachother.
Verse one-
"elevator buttons in morning air ... My time is theirs" They may have an inside joke, about something like that, and at that time, he wasnt there, but she was reminded of him and knows that if he was there, they would be laughing about their vacant stares. (basically, they have an inside joke or same sense of humour and she knows that if he was there in the elevator with her, they would be laughing about the strangers.)
"seems like there's always someone who dissaproves ... " means that there's always, no matter where they are, someone who doesnt want them to be together
"the jurys out, but my choice is you" is saying that she's not going to listen to what other people are saying, she's gonna follow her heart and chose what she really wants instead.
Chorus - is telling the boy not to worry, that people throw rocks at things that shine (meaning that people always try to ruin nice things, such as their relationships) and that love may seem hard, but it's not, and that the journey may be hard along the way, and the water may be rough, but they have eachother.
Verse two - is saying you never know what people are going to do from getting what they want (ruining their relationship) but who cares, because right now, he's hers
Verse three - "and its not theirs to speculate .." is saying that Their love isnt for other people to comment on, a d that she belongs with him, and that that she'll fight for them.
"I love the gap between your teeth .." is saying that she loves everything about him, even the imperfections.
"any snide remarks from my father .." means that she will ignore the comments of someone she loves very much, because she also loves him very much. -

Ours is a really sweet song! It's really cute, and yes it's about telling people that this couple is right for each other. and Taylor is really capturing this viable, and she is doing a "fearless" amazing time doing it! Taylor Alison Swift has a real gift for writing music and telling different stories! I grew up with Taylor's music since I was 7 or 8 and the first songs I heard from her, are "Shake It Off" "Love Story", and finally "You Belong With Me" they are sure classics!

Seems like she is in a forbidden relationship (like with a married man) and her family and friends are telling her he’s not going to leave. But she’s in denial even though it’s been years and now she’s moved to be with him and he still is with his family.

Love this song!
She obviously misses him, and is thinking about what they would do if he were there.
" People this rocks at things that shine, and that makes love look hard, the stakes are high the waters rough, but this love is ours."
She is talking about how people might try and break up there love for each other, but that won't work.
"And any Snide remarks from my father about your tattoos will be ignored"
I especially like this verse cause she is saying that thier love is so strong that she won't let one of the most special and important person in her life effect her love with him.
Taylor absolutely nailed this song, absolutely love it. -
In my perspective, taylor thought me of this song that it doesn't matter! We love each other and I don't care what people say as long as we're not doing wrong. Cause in the first place they are not the one inlove. And if you are meant to he with them no one can change that love.

I think this song is about having love for someone regardless of what others may say or think about your relationship. Since love is something deeper than just liking a person, it is also the fact that you just feel it in your gut. Someone will always disapprove, but in the end it doesn’t matter because they are not the ones in love. If you are meant to be with them, no one can change that love.

This song is about her being in a relationship that everyone views as wrong and unrealistic but they know what they have and who each other is. They've decided to not let anyone's words and opinions get to them because its not anyone else's to judge but theirs.
This song is actually very relatable for me because i'm currently in a relationship where he has tattoos and he does all these things that my parents and others view as bad and dangerous but I am the only one who knows who he really is and what we have. And I think that is how it should be, you shouldn't allow anyones words to get to you. It should be between yours and your lover, thats it. -
This song is about a boy and a girl who fall in love but people judge them and think they are not right for each other.
the chorus goes "don't you worry your petty little mind people throw rocks at things that shine" taylor is telling the boy that he should not worry they are shining and everybody's bad comments about them don't matter. -
I personally think that this song is about her and a guy, but the everyone says they arnt right for eachother and shouldn't be together.
It is saying that don't listen to what others say, and that any guy you think is special should be with you.
No matter what anyone does they will be together and not care. -

It's not about the person she's singing about, it's the meaning.
The song is about forbidden love, love that if it ever existed, would cause trouble. It's about how love is too special to be stopped, too special to be disrupted because of some petty arguments or something. -

This song is about couples that falling in love when everybody says they aren't the perfect ones. But they won't bothered and followed where their heart goes...You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly...
