Treacherous Lyrics

Put your lips close to mine
As long as they don't touch
Out of focus, eye to eye
'Til the gravity's too much
And I'll do anything you say
If you say it with your hands
And I'd be smart to walk away
But you're quicksand.

This slope is...

It is about falling in love with someone and you already know it's so dangerous to fall for that person, but you went for it anyway, thinking it was worth it (Nothing safe is worth the drive). And in the album, this track is followed by 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' wherein she's regretful of the outcome of this love, and now she's blaming herself. It's kinda like that. XD

I think this song isn't about forbidden love per se but a real kind of love where you can have intense feelings for someone but it may not work.
A no matter how much you feel like your compatible you're always going in opposite directions kind of love.
Where every part of your body tells you not to but you can't help but to be drawn to him/her.
It doesn't have to be sex related, and i know it is implied, but I interpret it more as you can love someone so much you give into your inner desires whatever that may be.
And that no matter how much hurt it can cause you, its something you fight for- something that overrides the hurt and danger. Something that makes you feel alive and happy.

I think the song is about a girl falling in love with a guy who is already taken. The word 'Treacherous' means to be guilty and represents betrayal. She says 'put your lips close to mine, as long as they don't touch'- implying that if they touched they would be guilty of cheating. If they don't touch, they're not doing anything wrong.

To me,this song is about a girl falling in love with ber best friend. She's scared to pursue her bestfriend because her friendship means the world to her. It's treacherous.

Continuing the convo about Taylor's virginity (lol) there's been pregnancy rumours over the years and in an interview she said it wasn't impossible. I mean really? You know the innocent act is just that, right? She's still cool, she's just not exactly what she make out to be.

And I read somewhere that this song is about heavy petting, so... yeah.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

When your falling for someone, and you now that its dangerous and you know that it could really really just annihilate you if it were not to work out. And it possibly could not work out, and it probably wont work out but you go for it anyway.

To me, this song is about being head over heels for someone who is unavailable. She's getting sucked into wanting to be with someone who is taken: "It'd be smart to walk away, but you're quicksand". And "forever going with the flow, but you're friction", to me, means that she has a path she wants to follow but her feelings for him keep getting in the way.

There is this boy. Taylor (or the girl in the song) starts to fall for him, but she knows its a bad idea. Maybe he is a "bad boy", or she has dated guys like that before, but maybe he is a friend and its treacherous to attempt to be with him. Everything is at stake, and that makes everything exciting.
At first, she is being cautious, but they both detect the attraction. She voices her doubts, and then decides the risk is worth it and goes all out.
This is a really beautiful song that everyone can relate to in some way.

Um, for the person who commented on this saying "I know taylor is a virgin.."
How exactly do you "know" she's a virgin? She makes it pretty clear in her song lyrics that she ISN'T. Other songs where she mentions the topic of sex is in the song "I knew you were trouble" where she says "a new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be" which is expression that means you're just another girl a guy had sex with.....

I know that Taylor is a Virgin and i can't help but think that this is her having sex for the first time, or even almost having it getting in the mood as one would say. She talks about getting him alone and the path is reckless but she likes it and she'll follow him home. If this is the case I think its really sweet :)
    Love you Taylor
