The Fray: Here we Are Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Here we Are Lyrics
-
Slade said : "Here We Are" is about my split personality. It's not really split left and right; it's more split outside and inside. I spent 27 years of my life caught between people-pleaser-Mr.-Christian-nice-guy and scared, alone, insecure kid inside that was kind of starving to death. A couple things sort of cracked the shell, but it was experiencing anger for the first time in my personal life and admitting that I tried a tactic of making everybody happy and admitting that it had failed miserably. And I sacrificed so much to try, and I was just done with it, dying inside.
