The Used: A Box Full Of Sharp Objects Meaning
A Box Full Of Sharp Objects Lyrics
Glorified by what is ours
We've fallen in love
We've fallen in love
It was the best idea I ever had
Today I fell and felt better
Just knowing this matters
I just feel stronger and sharper

#1 top rated interpretation:The person above me is an idiot. just because you cut doesn't mean that's what all songs are about. It IS about music's effect on people.

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:Not many people know this one. It's a metaphor. A "box" refers to the measure, and the "sharp objects" are the notes. Anyone who reads music understands this -- it's about music's effect on people, hence the word "sharp"...and the whole "glorification" thing is referring to music's power in this world...

I think this song is at least partly about self injury like come on a box full of sharp objects, today I felt better seems like it could refer to how cutting is temporary sadness relief but that's just for that part of the song.
-
I think is about feeling better after letting go and manage to get over whatever you need to get over more easily by focusing on what you like about yourself what talents you have etc (Found a box of sharp objects what a beautiful thing)
And see the good part in what happened see that you grow stronger and wiser because with all of the pain and sorrow that the event caused you there's a lesson that makes you wiser so in the future you'll do better (Today I fell and felt better
Just knowing this matters
I just feel stronger and sharper) -
This song refers to having to deal and overcome an addiction. Whether it be drugs, alcohol or the act of self-mutilation (yes it can become an addiction). But this song is Bert saying that yeah, he felt like going back to it after finding "the box of sharp objects" but he has overcome it and found love through the support of his friends. He knows he can easily go back, but resists due to the strength in his friends. And this is, like he said, "A song of glory", for him, or anyone else, over coming any addiction.

I think it doesn't quite matter, ok, maybe he 'said' he meant it about music, but you never know what the other meaning was. I thought it was about cutting, I admit. But that's just because the whole energy in the music can ALSO refer to that expirience... Please don't blame me for my opinion and the things I've said, I understand most of you guys would have no idea what I'm talking about wuth the whole energy thing, but it's just something I felt the first time listening this song, and I felt something likely by doing that other (bad) thing back than.
But ofcourse, I DO agree that it can also be just about music.
-
This song definitely has split meanings.
1 is Bert's drug addictions and how he used drugs to escape his relationship problems and the box full of sharp objects isn't talking about razors it's talking about needles
2 like the first person said its saying how music effects people and how people can take things differently -
I think it's about love.. "Today I fell and felt better" falling in love. "A box of sharp objects" the deadly side of love.
-
This song is about methamphetamine. The high makes you feel stronger and makes your senses sharper.
"It's our time to shine, through the down, glorified by what is ours" - this means he feels invincible and nothing in the world can get him feeling down.
A 'box of sharp objects' refers to a bag of crystal -
It's not about cutting. Bert McCracken said it was about all the good and bad and shit like that.
-
This song is obviously about getting over something hard.
"Today I fell and felt better
Just knowing this matters
I just feel stronger and sharper "
This song is also about glory
"Do you want a song of glory
Well I'm fucking screaming at you " -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
It's about having something you're really good at (sharp objects being a metaphor) and being able to throw it at someone and prove yourself and show people that doubt you what you can do.
