I think this song is about Bert's girlfriend that died of an overdose when she was pregnant. Her memory lives on but she'll never fade away for him. She didn't say goodbye and he doesn't get to ask why. Their time is through but he'll never get over her.

This song is about their friend Kate who over dosed on heroine. One of my teachers used to be in the band and is really close to the band still to this day.
