The Used: Buried Myself Alive Meaning
Buried Myself Alive Lyrics
to drop the worst lines
you almost made me cry again this time
another false alarm
red flashing lights
well this time I'm not going to watch myself die
I think I made it a game to play your game
and...

I could be TOTALLY off on this. But what I got from this song is that it's about a very horrible relationship. Maybe not necessarily abusive but controlling in a way. I had recently just got out of an abusive controlling relationship when I first heard this song and it was the only thing that kept me going. I could relate to so many of the lyrics. I LOVE THE USED!!

It's about not being treated fairly in a relationship and he just wants to get away form it all so instead of telling her his real emotions he buries them inside himself, until one day he EXPLODES and "puts his foot on her neck" and ends it all, the relationship everything, but he wants her to say sorry but she can't make the words that can forgive what she's done "if you want me back you're gonna have to ask nice than that"
well there you go
LONG LIVE THE USED -
The part of the song where he says "I guess it's ok I puked the day away" does not refer to alcohol, being bullemic, or throwing up on stage, for those of you who are not informed. Heroin addicts repeatedly throw up throughout their high, especially when they inject. I know from observing the behaviors of users. Bert has admitted to struggling with drug addiction. What drug do you think induces puking? Not cocaine, not marijuana, and if he was drinking that much and "puking the day away" he should be dead by now. It's about him struggling with heroin, plain and simple kids.

Bert got into a bad relationship that wasn't much of a relationship... She was mean... I guess... He hated the feeling that she was making he feel so he attempted suicide but it was a "false alarm" Bert might have wrote this when he was in his drug period because he say's "I guess it's ok I puke the day away" meaning he might have been so depressed that he did drug's. She asked for him back--- he said no.. yeah bert! "with my foot on your neck
I finally have you right where I want you" he feels that he got her back -
I think what Bert was trying to say that he got into a relationship and she took advantage, or control of it. By saying "I think the chain broke away" means he
couldn't take being controlled like that anymore so he freed himself. It sounds as if she didn't let him do anything by himself.
