Tim McGraw: Diamond Rings And Old Barstools Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Diamond Rings And Old Barstools Lyrics
One's for queens and one's for fools
One's the future and one's the past
One's forever and one won't last
[Chorus:]
It ain't like midnight and cigarette smoke
It ain't like watered down whiskey and coke
I...

i feel it means the diamond ring part is the "new". Hope, future life, the beginning. And the old barstools is where you end up when the hope is gone, the future now just holds memories (maybe painful) and it's where we end up at the end of all things when the diamond rings (marriage) are no longer important.
-
When I hear this song, I instantly think two barstools that they shouldn't be in. As in, two people who have moved onto new relationships (marriages) and still have the "what-if's" from the past. The past being that one a person they still care for, but just couldn't make it work at that time. One or both of them wondering if that is really where they should be.
-
I think what this song really means is we can't make something work if it's not meant to work. Some people just don't go together no matter how much they want to and we should accept that.
-
I believe it means that this man goes from place to place. He meets a woman each time and she feels he loves her. He says he loves her and does not know what that means. He only cares about himself and never makes a relationship permanent.
-
Some relationships aren't meant to be even if it has the passion of love in a life time.
