Tim McGraw: Let It Go Meaning
Song Released: 2008
Let It Go Lyrics
-
This song references the legend of the Crossroads, where a musician would go down to the crossroads to sell their soul to the devil in exchange for talent/riches. McGraw is basically saying that he has given up on that path and is now trying to "buy back" his soul. It is symbolic. He has done things that he didn't believe in to attain earthly riches, now he is turning his back on those things and repenting. He references letting the rain "wash it all away." This could mean that he has now been saved and that Jesus has washed his sins away.
-
this song is about moving on with your life and not let anything hold you back from doing the things you love most. dont let anything in life distract you from getting to where you want to get to.
