She Don't Want the World Lyrics

The open wound she hides
She just keeps it bundled up
And never lets it show
She can't take much more of this
But she can't let it go
And that's ok, she don't want the world

All the things she says
While he's just lying there
Without...

Ok...I am wrong, not about an unresponsive person in a coma...But about a dead marriage...maybe she knows about his affair or caught him cheating...but she still loves him.

What if you are way off on her being depressed or struggling with addiction, but rather about how much strength she is showing while she deals with the love of her life maybe being in a coma. What she wants...is for their life to go back to the way it was before... but she knows it never will and is trying to cope.

Ok..my thoughts are is about a girl and all shes ever felt was pain, everyone hates her her parents, her siblings, her friends, and when they sing "she don't want the world" it's saying that shes in pain and shes hurting but she doesn't want the world to sympithise her, and with the "she trys to show him love but he would only ask for more" her husbands sick or something and giving up on her, "part of the reason shes hurting" to sum this up the songs trying to tell you one smile can hide a million tears.

And that's ok, she don't want the world

    (her inner stuggle...addiction)

    All the things she says
    While he's just lying there
Without someone to hear her cry
She slips off into a dream
    About a place to hide
And that's ok, she don't want the world

(all the things she wants to say, but can't. All the things she says but he doesn't understand. )

    Softly in her sleep
Pictures of the life she's longing
    For slowly appear
    She's seen them all before
But somehow never quite this clear
She just smiles, she don't want the world

(she wants so bad to be free from this secret..addiction..whatever she is struggling with..she wants a different happier life)

To me this song is about a girl that has totally hit rock bottem. She is very depressed and struggling with a secret..(to me it is addiction). She is in love with a guy while going through this hard time in her life, and she can't reach him emotionally, because of all the emotional pain she is going through her self. He doesn't love her..but thats ok, because she doesn't have the life she wants anyways. That might not make sense to you...but every lyric in the song is exactly what im going through right now. I am at the lowest point in my life right now, struggling with addiction, which leads to lies...just with that its hard to smile, and hard to keep going. The relationship part i am also going through. He doesn't love me like i love him. he doesn't know the real me..i cant reach him emotionally because of all that i struggle with...i am alone.

As someone requested. I've always gotten vibes from this song as a story about a girl who's now broken-down and discouraged after a failed relationship, wondering how her life could ever be the same again. Really she just wants to be alright, which isn't asking for much: "She swears there's time to make it as she simply walks away / And it's OK, she don't want the world". So I think the message of this song is actually quite simple in that she doesn't demand too much, and she just wants to get by after everything "seems like it's been thrown away"
