3 Doors Down: Away from the Sun Meaning
Away from the Sun Lyrics
I've got to make this life make sense
Can anyone do what I've done
I missed life
I missed the colours of the world
Can anyone go where I am
'Cause now again I've found myself
So far down, away from the sun
That shines...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:this is a song mainly based on the concept of not really being depressed as much as just that feeling of being lost inside without something to hold onto. If you think about it with an open mind it is a very Christian based song from that standing point that only the Lord can bring you out of darkness and luminate your path so you may carry on.

The song means so much more and you have to know what it means and not just guess...
by the way i love three doors down!!!!! -
He's talking about missing out on his life because he was on drugs.
-
I think in all honesty it means that he can't find a way back up without the one that truley cares about him...he can't get out of his depressive state without a person willing to give him his/her love...like with my boyfriend he dedicated this song to me cuz he said i was the one that pulled him out of his hole :)

I think the rocky, slippery mountain is his life. He is struggling with his own issues (rocks he drags) plus the issues of the world (his abusive dad, bullies, girl issues) He has the one person from each group who don't help, but they weren't mean and they are seen as good to him (his mother, one girl and one guy) He keeps being knocked down but he keeps getting back up to meet the light and the spot where it won't be so hard anymore. The red flower is his determination. It is the only living thing on the mountain and it is beautiful and thriving. It is also pulsing red when he starts up the hill.

this song is about someone who finds himself to be depressed but it isn't the first time he has felt that way. he decided he did not want to feel like that anymore but has trouble overcoming his problems.
