AJR - Christmas in June Meaning

Christmas in June Lyrics
I was at a festival in New Orleans
You were in Tribeca kissing nobody
I owe you one, yes, I do
Valentine's Day
We decided we would do the whole damn thing
But I played to an empty gym at Iowa State
I guess I owe you that too

The song is talking about trying to split time between the person that the speaker, presumably Jack, loves. It’s about how big his career as a music artist impacts his relationship with the person that’s has loved him since his first big hit on the radio, “ I skipped prom; I thought I would blow up from that radio spot” and this is the person he wants to be there when he gets super famous. But the problem is he has two loves, this person and his career as a musician. He later talks about his realization of how much time he’s spending on music and his attempts to spend more time with the person he loves saying, “You're no longer gonna be the plan I miss”
Summary: It’s about Jacks struggle with balancing his time between the person he loves and the job he loves of being a musician.

This song I know for 100% is talking about the main character is always so busy with everything that is going on, so he wants to do everything with his family earlier so he has time for ev er erything else he's doing. Hence the line, "If we're ever gonna have a kid, don't wanna miss it can we just have him in June?"
