AJR: Weak Meaning
Song Released: 2017
Weak Lyrics
"No thank you" is what I should've said
I should be in bed
But temptations of trouble on my tongue
Troubles yet to come
[Pre-Chorus]
One sip, bad for me
One hit, bad for me
One kiss, bad for me
But I give in so...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This song is about a guy who tells himself that he will stop his bad habits such as accepting late night booty calls, drinking, and smoking because it increases the likely hood of his bad behavior. However, things are harder than they seem and he can't refuse the bad offer when it hits him at the moment, he caves in and ultimately GiVEs In. He hates himself for giving in but he's so tired of hating himself for giving in that he finally comes to the conclusion " what's wrong with being weak?" I'm still able to function. He's trying to 'convince' himself that it's okay to be weak and being taken advantage of.

#2 top rated interpretation:Honestly,I think it's not about just drugs and alcohol and all that crap. I think it's about how hard giving up old habits,no matter what they are,is.

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:I think it means how he struggles in life and theres a clue in that song “Temptations” and “Troubles yet to come” this could also mean how we face temptations and another clue
“One sip bad for me One hit bad for me One kiss bad for me” could mean he couldn’t drink, get hit or kiss plus “Im weak, and whats wrong with that?” Could mean that nothings wrong with being weak
Ok thats da end of my opinion -
It feels like this song is about getting tricked and manipulated but eventually they fought through the manipulation and said "so I'm weak I get manipulated easily and what's wrong with that?" (e.g "I'm weak and what's wrong with that")
-
Is about staying strong and if your ever in a bad spot in life, never ever think of doing the worst and move past it. COMPLETELY.
-
I honestly think its about the temptations of life, life like to trow stuff at us that are hard to resist and what's wrong with that?
-
Ok, this was the first thing that came to my mind. I think the song is about partying BUT more importantly, heroin. Hear me out. Obviously most of the lyrics can be interpreted as him giving into temptations of all kinds. But there are a few hints in there such as "boy oh boy I love it..." on the street heroin is referred to as boy. Also, "they call me after dark, I don't want no part" if you've ever watched the show Intervention you'll know that heavy heroin users often have to wake up in the middle of the night to use or they'll become ill. One more thing, if you watch the video, in the beginning they are all passed out cold with their heads hanging, again like heroin users "nodding out" and before anybody says "but he only says one sip, one hit, and one kiss" that the me off for bit too,but heroin can also be smoked....So I've heard.

It's just another drugs and homosexuality commercial to our society. The guy in the song says that if he's weak and wastes his life away, it's okay for all of the young people to do so.
-
It means that we are all human. We are all faced with temptation and we all slip and make mistakes but what's wrong with that? It is how we learn. It's not about homosexuality. The parts where he says Boy oh boy does not mean he's referring to a guy . It's a sarcastic phrase. Like oooh brother or oh my gosh.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think AJR is trying to be a better man. He is having problems with the struggles of life. On specific lyric catches me. He says " They call me after dark, I don't want no part." This could signify that people are asking him to do drugs or some other illegal activity. This could also signify that he WANTS to stop but cannot. It's like a cigarette. Once u start, u can't stop no matter how much you WANT to.

I saw a video of ajr and he talks about how tempting out world is and he was raised Jewish in a house hold where all the things in the song are bad for him. he knows his decisions aren't the best but he makes them anyways because h six at saying "no thank you" and he isn't "strong enough" to say no. so it makes him a weaker person. But he says that being weak doent necessarily mean there is anything wrong with him. he slips under pressure and is pursuaded easier than maybe some others and other people are weak in other ways.
-
Feel that's it's about him drinking smoking and likeing some one he is not soposed to
-
I think this is about a guy who wants stop smoking drinking alcohol and doing bad crappy stuff. He wants to let everyone know that doing bad stuff in life will make you weak.
-
I think you can either think he's talking about love, drugs, or partying. I like to think about it as he's trying not to like this girl but he just keeps falling for her.
