    I think that the song is about a lover or a want to be lover asking their love if they want them too. The love never answers and keeps going on with out the lover. The lover never lets go of their hope and keeps calling to their love, and when they don't answer they leave a final message and then they commit suicide, as the 'to light up and let the shadow, that follows you underneath'. The 'I know that you're calling me is the love finally realizing what their not answering did to the liver, and they feel terrible.
