This Song Reminds Me Of Someone And Their Girlfriend. It Seems The Guy Is Cheating On Her Or In Some Kind Of Trouble With Her Which He Refers To As The Flood. He Has Done These Things In The Past And She Just Hates It. He Loves Her Alot Though And Is Willing To Go Through The "Flood" For Her. And In The Song He's Admitting Up To His Unloyalness ,If You Would, To Her. And He's Asking Her If He Has Made Too Many Mistakes For Her To Let Him Try To Make It Up. Seems Like He Calls Her Master And She Apparently Doesn't Ever See It His Way.

It's about drugs. Most of Staley's are. "Know me broken by my master" is saying once you are on drugs, they are the "master". "Into the flood again, same old trip it was back then" is about doing it again or a relapse.

Jerry Cantrell wrote this song about Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone who died of a Heroin overdose. Cantrell: "Andy was a hilarious guy, full of life and it was really sad to lose him. But I always hate people who judge the decisions others make. So it was also directed towards people who pass judgments"
