Angels & Airwaves: Do It For Me Now Meaning
Do It For Me Now Lyrics
It seeps through the hall and from under the door
Like the shit that was said
I can't take it that well
I give and I give and I give and I give and I'm still
Lost and hurt and bone thin from...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This song is quiet hard to interpret... I can see it as being this total love that's not going right between two people, but at the same time I can see it as still having some connection to blink. This is what I think.
The first verse:
I'm frightened at night and the wind has a roar
It seeps through the hall and from under the door
Like the shit that was said
I can't take it that well
I give and I give and I give and I give and I'm still
Lost and hurt and bone thin from the love that's been starved
I know it got close but I'm sure it's too far
From the point of suspense, we know it should be
The end of that part of our favorite movie
When the guy grabs the girl and gives her his hand
Says take me away from this torturous land
Cause the grave is set up, the hole that I dug
I gave and I gave and I gave and I gave you my trust
Like the time that we kissed and you gave me a lie
To add to the scene you pretended to cry
But I'm here and I'm cool, the way that it is
Just give me a chance and I'll try to forgive
At night, memories come to haunt him, things that have been said plays in his mind, and its hard to accept but he still give in to it. He feels that he is not all quiet there yet, with doing something, or feeling a certain way toward something, and he feels that there is no love no friendship existing anymore.
When he says "I know it got close but I'm sure it's too far" I think he is taling about Blink. Blink being nearly what it was meant to be, but things have changed, and now its too far gone to make it real again.
"From the point of suspense, we know it should be
The end of that part of our favorite movie
When the guy grabs the girl and gives her his hand
Says take me away from this torturous land" I think this is still talking about blink, and how it should have been, and how it should have ended, like a happy ending.
"Cause the grave is set up, the hole that I dug" He knew his decision about leaving the bad was going to cause adversity amomg his other group members. He dug his own grave is what he is trying to say.
"I gave and I gave and I gave and I gave you my trust
Like the time that we kissed and you gave me a lie
To add to the scene you pretended to cry" I think there are a whole lot of metaphores in this part. I don't know if he is actually talking about kissing, but anoter form of expression for being close, connected, and he was shut down by being lied to, and then this other person he is talking about wasn't hurt or doesn't care about him.
"But I'm here and I'm cool, the way that it is
Just give me a chance and I'll try to forgive" This is saying that he is alright where he is, with his new band and his life. He just needs space, and a chance to forgive Mark, Travis, as much as they need to for all the bitterness that has happened.
The Chorus:
And I don't know
And I can't guess
If it's gonna be OK
But now my last wish
Is that you do this with me
Kiss me here and hold my hand
Let me feel like I'm the only one
I know you can
Won't you do it for me now
He doesn't know what the future outcome is going to be, but he just wants peace between Mark, Travis and himself.
The second verse:
I've really had it with the rain of the tears
The predictable storm that has come every year
And it sneaks in from shore with a bat in its hand
I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying I can't
You're a thief and a witch but I love you to death
You steal my heart and curse under your breath
But the one thing that I can most willingly prove
That when you are gone I'll be fine without you
"I've really had it with the rain of the tears
The predictable storm that has come every year" Tom has had an emotional time with everything that has happened and he has sensed the breakup of blink for a while that's what he means by predictable storms. The not so stable ending of the band.
"And it sneaks in from shore with a bat in its hand
I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying I'm trying I can't"
The ending was going to happen and it was going to happen whether any of them agreed or disagreed. He couldn't stop it.
"You're a thief and a witch but I love you to death
You steal my heart and curse under your breath" He still cares about the other two members of the group, and he knows that they have talked about him.
"But the one thing that I can most willingly prove
That when you are gone I'll be fine without you" But this is where he stands now, and he will be okay without them if it has to be that way.

I think this song word for word describes my life at the minute so I will show my story and how it relates to the lyrics.
I have loved a girl for months and she knows it she was always being used by boys and said she wished she had a proper relationship "to add to the scene you pretended to cry", I believed this and said I could give her what she wanted "I gave and I gave and I have you my trust"
A few weeks ago we were at a party and she had been split with her ex long enough for me to try something and everyone had seen the flirting and the signs she was giving me. However I just had a deep down feeling it wouldn't work "I'm sure it's to far". At the party however a boy unexpectedly kissed her but she did not stop him, it killed me to know but she came to me and said she was sorry and that she loved me and then we kissed "like the time that we kissed and you gave me a lie".
Afterwards everyone who had thought we were going to have a relationship told me 'she was a bitch anyway' and the usual stuff but I just couldn't believe them and I wasn't angry and when she asked me why I didn't hate her I said I didn't know "I'm here and Im cool, the way that it is"
In the following days I said I just wanted to be friends but deep down I still loved her and I knew that she knew it "just give me a chance and ill try to forgive". I said i wanted her to be honest with me and it turned out the whole time she had been single she had been sleeping with someone "you steal my heart and curse under your breath" yet still i loved her "your a thief and a witch but I love you to death" I know I shouldn't like her and I hate myself for it.
We mended our friendship and after school a few days ago I went to her house, when we were there we got close and I just wished it was what I had always wanted and that we could be together "kiss me here let me feel like I'm the only one" I could see what she wanted we were close she was looking at my lips and her eyes dilated, I knew I shouldn't but I had to: I kissed her, it felt so right to me but it hurt to know she wasn't the same even though she said she had butterflies and she regretted the past I wanted to believe her but it was just so hard. we kissed for hours but went no further. And now I'm going back all the time and I know she doesn't care about me for anything but sex but I just want to "feel like I'm the only one" to her.
So basically I feel the song is about being in love with someone you are close with or who says they love you but knowing it will never be what you want it to be. -
When AVA was writing We Dont Need To Whisper, they would project images from old war scenes and battles, so a lot of the influence on some of these songs arent even really about things that happened to tom. They are about those images he saw, and put himself into that character and threw the emotions he felt onto the page....

It talks about how you try to be loved, but don't succed. Then it talks about how when you do get love it usually doesn't work out, and how people will do you wrong, but obviously they still love the person, because they say they will try to forgive.
