Angels & Airwaves: Lifeline Meaning
Lifeline Lyrics
And some panic in those eyes
If I see you lying there
Hoping this was the last time
If you hear a distant sound
And some footsteps by your side
When the world comes crashing down
I will find you if you...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song is about Tom himself. About getting a second chance at a new beginging after his additction. It was the first song he sang sober and its about god finding you. He got part of it from the psalm footprints in the sand. So it’s about God walking next to you and saying I’ll take you for a ride; here’s a lifeline. It’s pretty rad!

This song is about Christ's forgiveness of peoples' sins a d mistakes, plain and simple. If you want it, He wants it too.

My guess is that this song is about someone who has repeatedly wronged you, but you're love for them allows them to come back to you when they have fucked up so badly - that their one and only lifeline is you. So, in spite of all the wrongs done, you are there for them - again and again and again and again.
-
It's about always being there for someone you truly care about "when the world comes crashing down, I will find you if you hide". It's about never giving up on people. It's about letting them know that no matter what at the end of the day they have you, if they want.
-
This song is about when the person you love makes a horrible decision or does something without thinking, and they turn to you in a panic and even though you disagree with what they did you stay by them and say "I'm your lifeline"
