The Adventure Lyrics

I wanna have the same last dream again
The one where I wake up and I'm alive
Just as the four walls close me within
My eyes are open up with pure sunlight
I'm the first to know
My dearest friends
Even if your hope has burned with time...

I think this song has many different meanings..I think it has to do with the break up of blink 182. Cause "I wanna have the same last dream again the one where I wake up and Im alive" that has to do with that blink 182 was not happy as a band on there last tour they didn't get along I think tom is saying he wants a fresh start back to the days where blink 182 got along...annd "I'm the first to know My dearest friends Even if your hope has burned with time Anything that is dead shall be re-grown
And your vicious pain, your warning sign
You will be fine " Tom is deff saying here sorry mark and travis I didn't want it to happen like that but you guys will make it.. The biggest hint twoards that this song was about blink break up was "I felt this thing that I can't replace where everyone was working for this goal where all the children left without a trace only to come back as pour as gold" tom is saying no band he will ever be in will replace blink 182, all there fans would buy there cd and it would be like gold...and the final part "I can not live I can not breathe unless you do this with me" tom is saying he needs help from the X blink fans, and help from mark and travis for some closeure but we all know how that played out a few months later Mark wrote No It Isnt lol

Tom said that this song is about how one of Tom's friend's marriage was falling apart and he stayed up one night crying for him because there was nothing he could do to help. And he saw how it was driving his friend crazy because his friend was still madly in love with her. Great song though, I love AvA.

I agree that there are a number of meanings to the song and I agree that the song's meaning is individual to the person.

Regardless of what inspired it, this song was our first dance at our wedding. My wife transferred colleges across the country so we could be together; despite a lack of support from most of our family members.

We translated this song as a plunge into uncertainty with almost unrealistic optimism that requires both of us to completely commit to each other (if you're going to fall I will let you know that I will pick you up, like you for I), we loved each other and it killed us being apart (we're all working toward this goal), we were starting our lives together, bound in marriage (here we go, life is waiting to begin), and that we both need to be equally committed (I cannot live, I can't breathe unless you do this with me).

We're both in the military, we've been together for 5 years, we've spent almost 3 of those years apart, and I'm getting stationed with her in two months. I'm sure it was inadvertent, but no other song so eloquently described the love my wife and I have for each other.

I know the songs really about his friend's marriage, which I still don't get, but in my opinion and my interpretation of the song, it just seems so focused towards God and there being something more to this life.

I see how this song is about broken marriage. To me, though, it has had 3 different meanings at 3 different times in my life. When I first heard it I was amazed by the sense of peace that came over me. "Here I am and here we go, life's waiting to begin." I felt this was a call for me to become more proactive.
Later, as my boyfriend and I struggled with the loss of a baby and stress in our relationship, the line "I wanna have the same last dream again" was exactly how I felt. I wanted to have the feeling of asolid relationship, the beautiful draem I'd had in my life.
Now, I hear this song and stare at my little girl thinking "wow, Tom and I have the same feelings about our little girls." When I hear "I cannot live, I can't breathe unless you do this with me." I think of my daughter. I don't know how I lived without her, I don't know how I could breathe if she wasn't breathing with me.
The beauty of music and lyrics. We can turn to them no matter what is going on in our lives.

Dude whoever said it was about tom losing his vagina is stupid and sounds like a pussy. Tom has definitely progressed in his music. people who hate angels and airwaves just because they don't sound like blink 182 need to realize IT'S A TOTALLY DIFFERENT BAND! while blink 182 will always be great angels and airwaves has their own unique sound and is great in general. This song is one of their best because it talks about progressive change, whether it be the world or tom himself. I have great respect for tom because he went against everyone who said he would be nothing without blink 182 and he proved them wrong. KEEP ROCKING TOM!

    Whoa, people cool it.
    I like this song.

I have my own interpretation of it and I am just fine with my thought.

Everyone can decipher it in their own way- whatever makes them happy. If they think it's about sex, well hey! That's kinky and great. About God, hey sweet way to relate it to religion! About a bad marriage, awe that's sad.

This song brings out so many different emotions that it can be taken in different manners for everyone. So chill, relax, and don't tear each other up so much about who is right and who is wrong... a person's idea is never wrong.

Ok I definitely understand the friend's marriage thing as I thought that sort of thing as well but its hard to deny parts of the song are about tom's changing attitude to the world. much of the first verse refers to tom having almost a numinous experience and realizing deeper meanings in life

I'm not going to go through my interpretation of the song, but. It just makes me feel so alive and confident. I think this song is just about standing on top of a mountain and yelling to the world "I'M ALIVE"
    its just so beautiful.

People go through shit in their life, and the past is always the past. but if you truly want to feel happiness, you'll focus on today and all that it has to offer. after every mistake is a new beginning, a new chance to start a new chapter in your book. and you control what happens by gathering up all you've got to make the best out of every day. after pain comes a whole new outlook on life each time.

You guys are a bunch of fools. Its apparent that it's about Tom losing his vagina one night hence "I wanna have the same last dream again"...

What? Machs are you being serious, that stalker thing sounded like a joke! I dunno I think jockbrad's made the most sense but if the songwriter says its a song about his friend's marriage falling apart, well, I'll take that.

I think this song is about being stalked by a person from a foreign country (possible Italian, due to the use of "hey oh" instead of "hello"). It is told from both the ruthless and possibly bloodthirty stalker's point of view, as well as the victims point of view. "I wanna have the same last dream again, the one where I wake up and I'm alive" means that the stalker dreamt that he/she was with thomas delonge and felt so alive once with him. But she/he sleeps in a box in tom delonge's attic, so when he picks up the box that she/he sleeps in (unaware he/she's in it), the makeshift walls provided by the box close her/him within, as is said in the third line of the verse.

    "I'm the first to know,
    my dearest friends,
even if your hope has burned with time,
anything that's dead shall be re-grown,
and your vicious pain, your warning sign,
    you will be fine"

All this means that no matter how bad you are, if you will believe in thomas, your life will have some hope left inside it, as was discovered by the stalker.

    "Hey, oh, here I am,
and here we go, life's waiting to begin."

"Here I am" means, "hi, I'm here stalking you out your house stalking you", in less words, and when he/she sees tom delonge, it's like life's waiting to begin.

"Any type of love, it will be shown", means that even if the person has to stalk poor thomas to show the love inside, it will be shown

"like every single tree reach for the sky", means that the stalker has to climb trees to peer into thomas's room.

    "If you're gonna fall,
    I'll let you know,
that I will pick you up
    like you for I"

This is the stalker imagining that if he/she should fall from the tree, tom would come and pick her up in the blink of a eye.

"Where everyone was working for this goal" means that the stalker imagined that everyone was working with him/her to stalk tom delonge, and all the children went in to tom delonge's house ("Where all the children left without a trace") and then came back "as pure as gold".

The bridge part (I cannot live, I can't breathe ect..) is from thomas's point of view, being fed up of the stalker and not being able to breath unless he/she leaves.

I remember he was on fuse tv and he said that they wanted to try and make the world a better place, " If your gonna fall I'll let you know that I will pick you up like you for i'' meaning trying to help others when they need help,..i guess.

read what I said up yonder.
