Breaking Benjamin: Give Me a Sign Meaning
Song Released: 2010
Give Me a Sign Lyrics
Light up the sky
I'm all out of breath
My walls are closing in
Days go by
Give me a sign
Come back to the end
The shepherd of the damned
I can feel you falling away
No longer the lost
No longer the same
And...

okay some of this is good but what about the part the is like this "i will keep you a live if you show me the way"? no one talks about that part.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
He misses his family member. The hole album dear agony is divoted to Benjamin's gran-dad. He wishes to bring him back. Cus without him he is lost.

Fact is, this song like all of Burnley's songs, is NOT about god or anything related really. Breaking Benjamin is NOT a christian band. Watch the music video to this song and you'll probably understand pretty well. Just a hospital of dying people. It's pretty sad, really. And i believe this is about his grandfather. :) But NOT god. Breaking Benjamin have an official website, and on it they said that their peers should make of their music how they will. They don't tell their fans the exact meanings. So make of this song how you will. -^_^-

This song is probably about the death of Benjamin's grandfather (who ironically was called Benjamin Burnley senior). They dedicated the whole album to him. You can see a picture of him in the booklet.
It sounds like Ben sitting on the bed of his grandfather who is dying and waiting for a sign of life and he cannot imagine a life without him. -
The Song Is About Jane (From Diary Of Jane) Being Rushed Into Hospital After A Car Crash And Her Husband Is There But He Has Died But Can Not Pass Through To Heaven Because He Cant Let Go. And The Evil Angel (On The Album Phobia) Is Taking Them Away To Heaven Because He Is There Saviour. Also At The End When The Man And Evil Angel Are Walking Out And Jane Wakes Up It's Showing That He Is Not Looking Back Because He Has Accepted He Has Died And Wants Jane To Forget About Him And Live Her Life He Wanted Her To Live. And When The Old Man And Little Boy Died It Was Showing No One Is Invincible You Will Eventually Die A Painless Death (Hopefully) And It Is Showing That Young Or Old You Can Not Escape Death Thank You For Reading My Post All This Is 100% True. :)

"Dead star shine
Light up the sky
I'm all out of breath
My walls are closing in
Days go by
Give me a sign
Come back to the end
The shepherd of the damned"
He's talking about dead stars shining, representing a small glimmer of hope that is dying. He is asking for a sign from God.
"I can feel you falling away
No longer the lost
No longer the same
And I can see you starting to break
I'll keep you alive
If you show me the way
Forever and ever
The scars will remain
I'm falling apart
Leave me here forever in the dark"
He feels his connection with God slipping away. He thinks its not the same anymore. He is speaking with God, saying he will try to be strong if God would please give him a sign. The scars will remain in his heart. He's saying that he's falling apart and he's being left in the dark.
"Daylight dies
Blackout the sky
Does anyone care?
Is anybody there?
Take this life
Empty inside
I'm already dead
I'll rise to fall again"
He's losing hope and wondering if anyone cares about him or is there for him. He's saying he is already dead inside and there's no point in trying because he's just going to fail again.
"God help me I've come undone
Out of the light of the sun"
He's asking God to help him and show him the brighter side of life.
"Give me a sign
There's something buried in the words
Give me a sign
Your tears are ready to fall"
He's talking about how he needs a sign, and he doesn't know what to do about the hidden meanings of this person's words he is speaking of.
This is all just my opinion, I am not a professional.
